There are 3 options

briefcase, backpack, purse.

Your use of the term man bag indicates you need a purse.

Why the hell do you need to carry so much shit? Sure I have all those things, but I can't recall a single day - except maybe when I'm take a trip - where I've had a need for all those items at once.

Keys, wallet, iphone.

If I have to carry more than that I'll toss the extra crap in my laptop bag or just carry my backpack.

Is that what they're calling it these days? Wouldn't chelsea or the West Village be a better spot?

My wife bought me a Coach briefcase for work. I dont use it though; I use my laptop bag they gave me from work.

I feel funny walking around with a $450 briefcase when I'm at the bottom of the ladder.

Camping type knapsack. You can put all your geek toys in it and still look rugged.

Coach? Ha, she could've gotten you at LEAST a Fendi, if not something by McQueen or St. Laurent. Versace would've even been acceptable. It makes total sense that you don't carry your Coach around...

I did not ask for lifestyle advice, wise sage, I just asked for purse..er.. man bag.. suggestions ;)

To answer your question, I rarely have everything on me at once, but it does happen and I'd like to be prepared. I had a nice laptop bag (in addition to my leather kenneth cole ..purse..).. But the cat pissed on that too.... Yeah, the cat doesn't like me.

I have my own office at home now, no cat allowed!

Thanks guys, some of these look very nice. Keep the suggestions coming :)

i need my man bag, especially in the winter. i have gloves, a scarf and head scarf to shove in there. on top of:

- book i'm reading
- ipod and headphones
- gum & eye drops because my eyes get irritated at work
- my lunch bag and whatever is in it
- bottle of water
- glasses case x 2, one for shades and one for specs

plus you never know what you need to shove in there. i've been carrying around my Hockey Day In Canada pledge form lately too.

I have a coach wallet and a coach bottle opener. Wallet is going on 7 years now and just keeps looking better and the bottle openr doubles as a throat slasher (on my keys and is very well made). :)

I had a KC bag years ago. The piping wore out after a coupla years and was fixed for free by a KC store in NYC. They used to have a lifetime weraout replacement warranty. Dont think they have that anymore.

My wallet and keychain are both Coach. They stay in my pocket and they're not flashy.
