Hello All,

I just bought a load of parts today for my new computer. The only thing essential that I am missing is a heatsink for the cpu. I have searched endlessly through stores for a decent cooler, but I came across too many options. Yes, I have read Anandtech's review on heatsinks, but those are hard to acquire. Can someone recommend a good heatsink to put on this Duron? One that is low on noise, and at a decent price?

I have decided on a GlobalWin FOP32-1 for my upcoming Duron 800. It cools very well. Its mass is way below the 300g limit restriction suggested by AMD (unlike the ALPHA PAL6035 and the Hedgehog). It's noise is supposed to be not too bad (unlike his sibling with the faster fan, the FOP-38), easily covered by case fans. Its cost is very reasonable. Finally it fits all mobos. It should be readily available since I have seen it advertised in a few Ottawa stores. The Chrome Orb is also readily available and cheap but 800MHz is supposedly close to its upper limit in terms of cooling. That leaves you no leeway.

You can check it and other models here and there.
