Well... For the past several years I've made due with one of those mini style grease guns. My truck only has two zerk fittings that are easy to get to.

Problems with the mini:

-Poor selection of grease in that size
-Grease tends to degrade or ooze past the plunger making for a messy reload when I least want it.

My Can Am has 8 zerk fittings so I would like a full size grease gun that I won't have to monkey with as much. I have all the major auto parts stores near me to choose from, and of course online. Cost isn't too big a hurdle - lets just say I won't spend $100 but spending $40 to $50 for something I'll use for a lifetime is better. Who knows? The right grease gun may be worth the extra coin.

So... Looking for a full size grease gun that will not give me headaches every time I need to pump grease.

Thanks gang!

Cadillac of grease guns (I own one  )

forget the lincoln..... I bought a snappy a few yrs back and use it regularly around the farm. nice to get the 18v and get yourself their cordless impact using the same batteries. Just buy them when they go on special and they will crack the bank, but not completely break it

Check the price the OP was wanting to pay even the cheapest battery unit I suggested was somewhat close but for his use a manual gun looks to be the best... Do like the Snapon though...

I have a Harbor Freight one - PITA gets air in it all the time.

Works now, but was frustrating 'burping' it.

The pistol grip intrigues me, the battery powered ones are a bit overkill for me.

obviously either of our suggestions were a bit much (battery). any manual pumper would be fine for his use and budget. Only other suggestions I would make is I would choose a pistol grip type verses a lever action

Any time you replace a used up cartridge it needs to be burped-before you put the cap (top) back on pack some grease in the empty cavity (that didn't sound quite right) and it will burp quicker.
I also tip it up side down and pound it on a bench and press the bleeder-hurts nothing.
At least that is how the flat raters do it.🙂

I can count the number of fittings I've greased on one hand, but why the HELL would you need a battery powered grease gun? 😕

Nice! Thanks for the tips.

If you work flat rate you can grease a vehicle in 30 seconds instead of 1 minute-I'm blowing it out of proporsion, but you get the idea.

Oh definitely. But for one or two personal vehicles? My $20 gun from Adv Auto works perfectly. Takes full size grease cartridges that are widely available and in many types. Has a flexible hose that's maybe 12 inches long so you can easily maneuver it to the fitting. What more is needed on a personal grease gun?

You'll never catch me alive, see. The dirty rats and coppers can eat some lead, see

If you're working flat rate, or for/in a shop in other words, your grease gun is powered by an air compressor from the overhead grease lines. Good shops don't use cordless tools....they're too inefficient, heavy, need too many batteries for continual heavy use. Air power is the only way to fly for shops.

For home use, cordless grease guns are quite the chic tool and good for bragging rights, but needless---unless your grip strength is less than a 6 year old's.
