Recommend a good page turner?

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

just finished it earlier today, couldn't put it down. Loved the story and premise.

I must admit I enjoyed Dan Brown's stuff...like the techno-thriller...in terms entertainment value at least...until I figured out his plot lines were all the same.

Well, not too sci-fi. Not like Star Trek/Wars books.

I meant like techno-thrillers...well researched.

Like "Night Fall" by Nelson DeMille.

Best....porn....ever. But seriously, I'm into Clive Cussler novels. Action/adventure based around his more popular character Dirk Pitt and one of my favorite but lesser know characters; Juan Cabrillo. He's a pretty good author, his books don't keep me riveted, and they can be a little predictable, but they ain't bad.

Edit: Found this page turner. Right here at AT forums. Some good 'ol boys just necro'd a 3 year old thread on where to buy bulk beef online. Epic, simply epic.

Since you mentioned DeMille, his cold war books Charm School and Talbot Odyssey were hard for me to put down when I read them. I also was that way with quite a few Crichton books, Prey Airframe and Disclosure come to mind. This doesn't really fit your genre, but Cormac McCarthy's books have all been "page turners" IMO.

I second the Clive Cussler novels but, I like old school. 🙂

I thought Ilium by Dan Simmons was pretty engaging. I recently read "The Mist" by Stephen King and it was quick and easy to read, if not his best work.
