Recommend a good cereal to snack on please.

I've been pretty happy with the Kashi brand cereals. They seem to have a pretty good balance between fiber, protein, and sugars. As a plus, the tastes aren't bad (IMO). I usually mix in some fiber one and maybe some flax meal.

I find that high protein snack bars (10g protein at 200 cals) are a nice light night snack. Two of them usually satiate.

In terms of being "healthy". It's better than a lot of crap people eat at night but some people here might cringe at the idea.

The nice thing is, because of the demand for these, they are becoming more commonplace so the flavors are getting better.

Other suggestions besides cereal:

The bear naked granola is pretty good, just watch the sugar on some of them. I also like the Kit's Organic fruit and nut bars and the perfectly simple protein bars. Neither have any crap ingredients, fruits and nuts primarily. Just go for the ones that are lower in sugar.

Fresh fruit is also a good choice. We've been buying pineapple and cantaloupe lately.

My girlfriend makes homemade energy bars with Fiber One cereal, peanut butter and Nutella. She adds chopped dates, cashews, sunflower seeds and shredded coconut. She combines everything and pours them in a pan and lets them set in the fridge. They're friggin' delicious. Told her she should market them and sell them, they're that amazing.

Any cereal that you enjoy is fine. Kashi might have more protein, but I'm sure as heck not paying for that cardboard. I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I eat it with a scoop of (lower sugar/alternative sweetener) ice cream for dessert (about 300 total calories).

Nearly all cereal is fortified and they almost all have the same amount of calories except for Kashi, Mueslix and Granola stuff -- they approach 200+ calories. Basically the really dense cereals are higher in calories per serving.

So eat whatever you find tasty.

If you want healthy, healthy, eat fruit instead.

Cracklin' Oat Bran - like oatmeal cookies 🙂

I like grape nuts flakes, it seems just sweet enough for me, without causing me to want to eat the entire box.

Define "good".

IMO, anything is fine as long as it meets your calorie and macro goals. I currently snack on Special K or Fiber 1 cereal, but sometimes I'll have Lucky Charms if it fits my diet.

Just make sure you measure out your serving and don't over eat.

If you want to be healthy... Kellogg's All Bran Bran Buds.

If you want it to taste good... Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Most starchy low fiber cereals like Corn Flakes are not really any healthier than eating the sugar sweetened versions for most people.

All that starch gets immediately turned into glucose by the body whereas the sugar gets turned into 50% glucose, 50% fructose... that's the only difference. It's true that most americans eat too much fructose which is causing a fatty liver problem amongst people, but if you are thin and get lots of exercise it's not really an issue.

On another note, lots of people think canned fruit juice like Orange Juice is healthy when it's basically fructose in a can.. no healthier than a soda. Eat real fruit, avoid processed juice. 🙂

This.

The amount of sugar that gets added to food products is insane.

As for healthy cereals.

I usually switch back and fourth between the following.

Honey Nut Cheerios
Apple Cinnamon Cheerios
Life Cereal
Crispix

That sounds incredibly delicious. Good deal of sugar though I'd imagine
