Can you give me some good suggestions for a video card for about $75. I'm not interested in any fancy features or TV out or dual monitor. Just something decent enough for regular viewing and only casual gaming. Believe it or not, I'm still using a 4meg Diamond Viper PCI from five years ago....

Thanks !!!

I've just bought a Radeon VE, I'm very pleased with it.

Its the Radeon chipset, using the RV100 chip. You can see details here.

Its perfect for me as I wanted an all round card with acceptable games performance. ATi cards hae excellent image quality.

If you want a faster gaming card, with fewer features and slightly less image quality, then try nVidia's GF2 MX range. I'm not sure if there is one for about $75 though, maybe slightly over.

I second the GTS-V. It will mop the floor with the Radeon VE. If you really want a Radeon, opt for the LE instead. It's only slightly more and you might find one approximately in the price range you've indicated.

I vote in order of the cards mentioned here ;)

1. GTS2-V
2. GF2MX/Radeon LE
3. Radeon VE

you don't need tv-out:
GTS-V
Radeon LE

you need tv-out:
GF2MX with tv-out

you need dual vga-out plus tv-out:
Radeon VE

newegg has all of the above choices at good price.
