Hi Folks,

I'm picking up my new LCD monitor this week and would like to check it for dead or stuck pixels. Can someone recommend a freeware program that is good? And is there a recommended resolution setting that I should be using when checking the pixels?

Thanks for the help.

Fantastic program, it's free so give it a try!
Doh! Half a year, and I never really noticed that there was a single dead pixel about a cm from the bottom edge of my LCD . Could be worse, I guess. At least it's not smack dab in the middle.

Neat program .

Edit: I'm an idiot. It was a speck of dust. Must clean my LCD more often...

LOL if you don't notice it, then don't go looking for it. If you find one you never noticed then it will eat you and your eyes will just keep going to it, like your tounge to a popcorn kernel stuck in your teeth

I have a blue and green stuck pixel...nothing has helped yet. The green is the bad one...about center of the upper 1/3 of the screen. The blue is barely visible on even black, but the green is noticible on almost anything but white and green.

Changing the colors revealed a stuck pixel on my old Inspiron screen. Dell actually sent me a replacement screen if you can believe it :Q

Ok, I have a 40" Samsung 1080P LCD that I use, And I noticed I have a stuck *black* pixel in the lower left corner. But, when I use the Pixel Buddy Test...it ONLY shows up on white, green and yellow. The blue, red and black it doesnt show up.

What does this mean ? You would think since it is black, it would show up in red and blue also. Correct ?

Well, I don't think you'll see it on the black as it'll be black on black. As for the red and blue I'm not sure. Maybe the pixel is just more clearly visible on lighter backgrounds?

I know what you mean fretman. But I looked as close as possible, and it just isnt there on red and blue.

Hmmm...I'm not sure what to make of it...hopefully it doesn't interfere with your enjoyment of your TV...something like that would be hard to notice with so much happening on your screen at once.
