i already have VLC player for videos and whatnot, but i want a accumulative codec pack that will let me play a wide variety of videos without having to install all the applications (WMP for mac, etc..)

someone has to know whether theres something out there like a k-lite codec pack for mac's or something.....

i beg to differ, i have a PC and i just bought a mac, the thing is very robust and good at doing alot of things.

well what about windows media player formats, is there some kinda pack i can download so that it supports those format types? or would i have to install windows media player for mac...?

none of the WMP codec clones even for the PC are very good, only the official ones from MS work reliably, in my experience.

Macs are good, if your willing to pay twice as much - and usually get less

Here it is

Yeah. That's the official way to play WMVs on a Mac now: a Quicktime plugin. The Windows Media Player never ceased to blow and the end of its development is no loss to Mac users.

There are few codec packs out here... You may give 3vix a try.
