recommend a CD-RW

I will never buy any brand other than Plextor... unless they do away with their scsi drives in which case I will move to Yamaha.

Most are quiet these days.. there has to be some other quotas or something...

my LG 16X is very quiet, my Ricoh 12X is very quiet.. most that i have heard are perfectly quiet.

i agree... all cdrw drives are pretty quiet compared to everything else in the system... if you're hearing your cdrw while it's writing cds u might wanna get it checked

My Lite-On 24x10x40x is pretty good. You should get the 40x Liteon. They are cheap and high quality. Don't listen to these other people, they are just wasting their money.

I have an LG 24x and it's excellent, it might even be better than the Liteon, the LG does copy everything that the Liteon does. Also supports 90/99 minutes CDR, very quiet and 8mb buffer if you hve a slower PC.

Thanks to all who replied. I have an acer 50x cd that sounds like a turbine when it spins up and did not want another noisy drive. It looks like for the money lite-on is the way to go .
