recommend a 3D software

which one is better, Maya or Bryce or 3D Studio Max? or do you recommend something else for someone who's just starting out

Yeah its much easier to use (and learn). Bryce is too limited, and maya is *really* expensive. Go here for more info on Lightwave.

lol since i doubt you're paying for any these you should get your money's worth... Maya is a very VERY difficult program. Bryce is crap. 3D Studio max is a nice all around program.

my favorite program is Rhino 3d, it's just so fun to model stuff easily

i just want to get a feel for it. I'm a beginner when it comes to 3D software so I just wanta learn i guess

Hmm yeah I forgot 3D studio max. You can also try Downloading Nendo, which is really easy to get into.

Definitely NOT maya. If you're just a beginner it's not worth the money. I'd suggest trying a cheaper program than any of the ones listed. Other's have already listed a couple of alternatives. If you really want one of the above I'd suggest 3D Studio Max. The sheer amount of helpful information on the web and in print that is available for it is very helpful. Lightwave 7 is also a good alternative but there aren't the same amount of resources out there for it. Don't get Bryce, it's not worth it. Bryce is more a terrain modeller than anything else. It's very good at it but you can't model in it.

I think I'm gonna end up going with 3DS Max. I'm also gonna try Maya i guess.

I'm telling you rhino3d.com, Rhinoceros is such a tight program. 2.0 is out, free eval on the time

wow. Rhino3d looks cool too. I remember seeing their site a few months ago. Looks nice as hell.
