Hey Folks,

I'm shopping for a 30+ inch, 1440p monitor in 144hz that works with both Gsync and Freesync. Does such an animal exist? Seems they do in 27" but I don't want to downsize after running my Alienware 34" Ultra wide (2560 x 1080) for many years.

Thanks,

NP

Several models are available. Look at Hardware Unboxed’s reviews. I recently bought a Gigabyte M32Q to replace an aging Asus PG 278Q.

Nice looking monitor. I take it you're pretty happy with it? I'm just trying to decide if the move up to 1440 vertical is going to be that much of a difference over what I have now. It's about 25% more pixels which means 25% less fps but most games I'm playing now at 80 to 100 fps and above. Full 4K would be nice but no way can my setup drive that at the current fps I'm used to. Of course my wife is still on a 23 inch 1080 monitor which gives me an excuse to upgrade and give her my old one :).

Yes, quite happy with it. Going from a TN panel to an IPS panel is night and day. I do wish it had a dedicated power button, but that seems to be the way with a lot of monitors to go with minimal controls.

I have never used an ultrawide monitor, so I don't know what the experience would with going from an ultra wide to normal wide monitor, but I have used regular 1920x1080 monitors, and going to 1440 is a big improvement. A 32" 1440 display is a bit large for the resolution, and I do notice the bigger pixels compared to my previous 27" monitor, but only occasionally and it isn't that bad. Most of the time, when gaming, I don't notice it at all.

I saw several 34" QHD wide horizontal size monitors but I do not recall where! I sure it has 144hz refresh. Might do an Amazon & NewEgg search to begin with.

I just picked up a LG 34GP83A-B on Cyber Monday Amazon sale and its has been fantastic for me so far. Has Freesync Premium support and 144hz + OC 160hz

I upgraded from a 16:10 1920x1200P 60Hz display so it was quite the jump.
