Recomendations For Wide LCD

Looking for a lcd 20.1 ws or 22", going to use them for video editing , playing games, web development, want to keep it around $300 if I can.

I like dell ultrasharp but cann't find good deals on them , how are acer monitors??

I found a few Dell 20" displays for sale in the FS/T forums about a week ago.
Picked up a 2007FP for $280, you could grab a 2007WFP for a bit less.
I looked at the VX2025WM and various Dell's, great buys at <$300.
There was also the BenQ at NewEgg for ~$250, but like Acer not ideal.

I would go with the LG l204wt. I could only find it at some obscure etailers and circuitcity, but I went in and looked at it at cc and it's great. They have it on sale for $310. No ghosting whatsoever and overall great screen for movies and such.

The only problem with the vx2025 is that ~1/8 of users experience a dvi problem. The dvi connection is not recognized on POST. Something to consider, it is however a high quality panel.

Read the LCD Buyer's Guide Thread I posted above. Depends on what your main use is, photo editing, gaming, officework, movies...

The type of panel used in the monitor may make all the difference for you.

The 20.1" widescreen ultrasharp when on sale for around $300 before Thanksgiving. I bet it'll do that again after Christmas. I think they currently might be sticking it to people who are under a time crunch to buy them for Christmas presents.

again, read the lcd sticky. xtknight outlines some of the problems plaguing the 2007fpw such as NOT GETTING AN S-IPS PANEL? Some are shipping as PVA's, not cool. Also banding...

Exactly...from some accounts, you may be better off with the LG204 over the Dell with a S-PVA panel. And again, look for the Viewsonic.

Just bought one of these a week ago and it is an exceptional buy right now. This is my 6th LCD in the past 3 years, (my first widescreen), and so far the best. I have owned 2 Viewsonics, an LG a Hanns·G and a Samsung.
Sceptre X20WG

Dell Monitors are great IMHO. I've owned three so far: 2001FP, 2005FPW, 2407FPW. I like them because they are crisp, bright, and have lots of inputs (I have attached: two PC's - DVI & VGA, Xbox 360 - Component, PS2 - S-Video!). With Dell, unfortunately, you have to catch them when they have discounts. I bought all mine at 20% discount.

Newegg has a BenQ for $250 this weekend. Great monitor. My wife uses one (not widescreen though), and recommended to a friend who bought one too and loves it.

The L204WT is an 8-bit panel, the LCD sticky thinks it's 6-bit. Here's a link with more info..

If I'm not mistaken, it is 6 bit +dithering =16.7m colors. It's a TN panel isn't it?

You're right, here's a Hardforum post that explains it a bit. Sorry for the confusion.

The dell only has has (800:1) contrast ratio but L204WT has higher contrast ratio 2000:1 than dell. Can I tell the difference , I also want the panel to be bright and height adjustible if I can for under $300.

Dell may only have reported 800:1 contrast ratio, but it has a very bright contrast. I have had zero issues with it. I have used my 2001FP for about three years (at 16ms refresh), and just in the last few months replaced it with a 2005FPW (8ms refresh). I also added a 2407FPW (24" 1920x1200) to my gaming PC and it is just as spectacular if not better. Contrast ratio IMHO is not a factor with the Dell monitors.

The LG is "Dynamic" contrast. I think it's true contrast is 800:1, but it looks something like 1400:1 due to this technology. It should be slightly better than the dell.

Basically narrowed it down to these
VX2035wm
L204WT
Dell e207 wfp (didn't get that great reviews)
dell 2007WFP got great review any other brand out there with great reviews as dell little bit cheaper.
