I need to get a reliable USB HUB capable of providing power for the devices. Four or more ports. USB 2.

I have been looking at the miriad of hubs at Newegg, but a lot of them have negative feedback, in particular about the downstream device powering.

Any recomendations will be appretiated

The D-Link is a decent 7 port hub - I use two of them and they work fine. Color is unimportant. If it really matters - paint 'em! :)

That looks like a good unit. The picture does not show a power supply. Do they come with one? No problems feeding the devices? I will be running a couple of drives that require double port hookup.

Yes, i know many feedbacks irrelevant. The ones that concerned me are the ones about failure to power devices from the HUB's power supply.

This is not clear in the Newegg ad - but, it does come with an A/C power adapter.

I use a Belkin 7 port powered USB Hub myself. Got it at Target for $30
However, some people say you can have issues with a 7 port hub.
They suggest a 4 port as the maximum. Now in my case, I do not have
devices connected to all the ports and it mainly used to bring my rear panel
USB 2 jacks up to the desktop for ease of connecting things like Thumb Drives,
Cell Phone, Memory Card Reader / Writer .. etc

Regarding negative feedback, some people give a product negative feedback because they don't like the color, it arrived a day late or their rebate was slow in coming.

Cheaper than the 4 port.

Yep, with the rebate. Be patient on the rebate but you will get it. If not, we'll send Red Dawn after it.;)

I'm planning to pick up a Belkin hub from Circuit City this week. I already have a different model Belkin on one of my computers and I've been very happy with it.

I received it and have had it working for a day. No problems. I wish it was heavier. I may get some velcro and hang it on the side of the desk.

I like the Ultra Stackable 7-Port hub...

it comes with stand, or feet to be mounted vertically or horizontally, and of course it comes with power adapter or you can use it in conjunction with the Ultra Stackable power supply
