I bought a 3M Precise Mouse Surface and was terribly dissapointed. Althought I like it's thinness, it slides way too much. Sure I could glue or tape it but I expected more so I'm taking it back.

I've never owned an Everglide but bestbuy has them on their display pc's and I didn't like it. It's too thick for my likes and I didn't like the surface texture.

I'm left with choosing between a fUnc pad 1030, Ratpadz, or a Crystal Pro. From what I've read, I'm leaning heavily for the 1030 but I'm curious what you guys think.

I buy those rubber ones with a fabric top for $1 each at computer shows. They seem to work just fine, and they stay put very nicely.

I'm a big fan of the 3M mouse pads. I do GLUE mine down though. I use the 3M spray adhesive to do it. Keeps the pad in place, and when the pad has become too scratched and needs to be replaced, I simply peel it off the desk and glue the new one on. No mess whatsoever.

You could get an aluminum mousepad. I'm not sure how great they are but Coolermaster and some other company makes some.

I looove my mousepad with the gel wrist support. All my friends hate it but it feels so nice compared to what it used to be like. The pad itself is just a generic pad from case logic.

The thickness is a good thing since the pad does not bend like some other top mouse pads I could meantion, anyway if you don`t like the Everglide Giganta try out the new Optical version which is called Giganta Optical ( Link) .

Btw the texure after a few weeks gets better as you get use to it,real smooth like being on ice :).

I"ve been using one of These for about 2 years now (the same one actually). Nice hard surface, very smooth and it sits on a rubber base. One side is actually a little smoother than the other and works great w/ my mx500. No sign of wearing out yet either...

Seeing how Anand and the [ H ] don't seem to be getting along (notice the lack of links between them and Kyle's message about other sites not having a link section), I don't know how well this will be taken, but...

I have a RatPad (to go with my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0), and it's really nice. Kyle's been saying they're working on a new one, but he hasn't really said anything about it.

I'm using a Belkin Waverest and it's so much better than my old regular cloth mousepad that I was using. It glides along but doesn't slide so you still have the accuracy and there's also a gel wrist rest :)

Get a Func 1030.... It is the best mousepad available now... BAR NONE!
It's the best $20 I've spent on my computer... really!
In fact, I'm asking for another one for christmas for work.
AND it comes in a silver aluminum lan case too!!!

www.func.net

I got mine from this place... I recomend the black version though... the blue and orange is TOO Much!

I happened to see these at Walmart for under $2. I recently washed my mousepad with Tide - the adhesive held up, and the thing is nice and clean again. Darn good for the $1 I paid for it.:)

I just recently got an Everglide Giganta Optical pad. My previous pad was cloth (?) that came with Duke Nukem 3D a looooooong time ago. At first, I hated the texture, but now (after a couple of days) I love it. It's a great pad.

I do *alot* of online gaming...use Ratpadz and MS Intellimouse Optical 3.0 = good times, and no messy mouse or fuzzy padz. DO NOT use the cloth padz. I too tried the 3M solution = slidey= no good. Go Ratpadz...cheaper than the other hard padz. Excellent product.

I'm also using a Intellimouse 3.0 and I will not use any other mouse - this is perfect. I think the Everglide Giganta is pretty much the same thing as the Ratpadz... maybe more expensive.

Anyway the lesson is, in my opinion a hard pad with similar texture to Everglide or Ratpadz is the only way to play! It may take a few days to get used to but I am pretty sure you'll love it afterwards. This thing is not going to be tearing up anytime soon like a cloth pad either.

I have a table and my intellimouse doesn't like the surface so I put a blank white sheet of paper and taped it on all four sides. Works great. I have tried the 3M and liked it when I got it in 1998 (I think it was) but not so fond of it anymore.

I'm pretty big into online gaming and I've tried basically everything. The BEST mousepad I've used is this HUGE cloth mousepad I bought from COMPUSA. COMPUSA is the only store I've seen them at. Usually called a Manpad by people that I know who have them, which is a majority of the good CS players. I've used the everglide, func surfaces, and ratpad, and this mousepad is by far the best if you're big into FPS gaming. I use MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0s at the moment, but I'll probably buy a Logitech MX500 soon.
