EQ sucks. UO was fun cause i got to kill lotsa ppl, EQ is just kill monster, get experience repeat. you could pick up some decent old PC RPGs for about $10 in stores, why don't you try Fallout and Fallout2(EXCELLENT games) HeroesIII as everybody said, is fun. Neverwinter Nights is comin out soon enough :p. if you're into the whole D&D thing you could try the new Might and Magic game, what are they up to now, 3546534634? i do the same thing you do though man, luckily i saved some up ;) right now im in the works of playing Final Fantasy 8, Landstalker(Genesis), Magic Knight Rayearth(Saturn), Fallout2, and a whole slew of SNES ROMS, which by the way is not a bad way to pass the time. just go find yourself a nice SNES Emulator and get some old RPG roms, FF3 is good, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Earthbound. or get a Genesis Emulator and play my fav. game of all time, Phantasy Star 4. Nox isn't bad either(PC) maybe you'll wanna check that out.

Randy:

I started a DiabloII thread and tried to answer your questions. If you're truly a Diablo fan, I might be persuaded to part with my beta test key code. It's the last weekend of beta, and I'm going out of town.

Nethack!! Back to the basics baby, There's nothing more thrilling than being a little @ sign walking around killing Demilichs (Blue L's) and Black Dragons, (Black B's) Nethack is a game I have never personally seen beaten without cheating, and I have invested YEARS of my life into it.

I do not understand why everyone is not leaping onto the NetHack bandwagon. No other RPG can say they have been in development as long. NetHack, with it's low system requirements, and endlessly addictive gameplay, is one of the classic games of our time, and every time before ours. Really the first, last, and best computer based RPG to be had.

Ok, the story of Nethack.

Nethack is the linux of the game world. It is open source, and it is free. It does not have all of the flashy lights of the "Mainstream" games, but it has huge wells of uptapped resources. If you start playing nethack, you will be unable to stop. You will spend days, glued to your chair, without a thought as to your outside life or personal hygene. After experiencing the world as a Black Dragon you will be dissatisfied with your own puny existance, and will begin hunting for wands of polymorph on e-b@y. You will try to read pages of printed text, only to find yourself reciting which dungeon creature, each letter of the alphabet stands for. You will be so excited, upon recieving your first wishing wand, that you will wet yourself. This is a game everyone must experience. Resistance is futile, prepare to be assimilated

Download it here...

I'm getting Chrono Cross if it is good with Bleem. I love the original Chrono Trigger.

My favorite all time RPG is FF6 and I doubt that will never change. That is by far the best RPG ever. Its has a great story that isn't over done and the best overall battle/magic system that I have ever used.

I recently read a review of Chrono Cross, said it wasn't as good as the original but it was still very good (hey, to live up to Chrono Trigger is damn hard to do). I also heard Vagrant Story for the PS was cool, but I fire up zSNES for my RPG pleasure. FF6, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, what more could you want out of life?

Well, if you have a SNES, I suggest The 7th Saga. I've been playing it (for the 4th time) for the last several days. That's probably why you guys haven't heard too much from me lately. It's really addictive! You might think it's lame, but I like it!!

Also have Illusion of Gaia and Soulblazer running, but The 7th Saga has pretty much moved those to the back burner for awhile.....

Ever played Flashback? Now that game is a trip!!! -kd5-

PC: Might And Magic 6 and 8. 7 is a little under par for that series and 1-5 are now old. I have played 6 9 times in the last year.

SNES:The Seventh Saga, Final Fantasy 2 & 3, Brain Lord, Lufia 1 & 2, Breath of Fire 1 & 2, Shadowrun, Illusions of Gaia, Lagoon, The Lord of The Rings, Wizardry 5 (very tough to finish, lots of riddles), Robotrek, Eye Of The Beholder, Might & Magic 3.

SNES that I liked less: Secret of Mana, Chronotrigger, Wanderers from Ys, Paladin's Quest, Dragon View.

http://tomedsa.free.fr/us/roms.html only if you have the original cartridges and want to play your old SNES games on your PC.

the best role playing game ever is chrono trigger. but i haven't played any rpg's on anything after SNES so i might be a bit biased hehehe but chrono trigger is definitely a great game.

the other rpg i would recommend is counterstrike/halflife. you play the "role" of either a terrorist or counterterrorist =P. it's fun but too addicting so once you start you might start losing friends and getting fat and lazy.

Final Fantasy III & Chrono Trigger are the two best games of all time.

Including PC.

P.S. If you really wnat it to be PC, Baldurs Gate will consume you.
P.S.S. If anyone suggest Diablo 2 as a good RPG, you should be hung upside down for 10 minutes :)
