Ok I'm looking for a good movie. Here are a list of movies that I love to give you a vague idea of the kind of film making I like. I know it's impossible to tell exactly from any such list but this is really more for fun than anything else.

Magnolia
The Thin Red Line
Pulp Fiction
Kurosawa's Ran
Goodfellas
There Will Be Blood
Blade Runner
Apocalypse Now
Grave of the Fireflies
American History X
Dead man walking
L.A. Confidential

Post your own list and have others recommend titles to you!!

Seen it. It was okay but not my favourite. Good choice though that is the type of thing that I might potentially really enjoy. Netflix doesn't rent in Canada I don't think.

no country for old men
casino
carlito's way
heat
resevoir dogs
lucky # slevin

2nd'd boondock saints, amazing movie.

Yes I've been meaning to see that at some point. Isn't Al Pacino's acting in that WAY over the top though? His acting usually is anyway but I understood it to be REALLY bad in that film.

Locut0s we seem to have similar taste... I'd recommend:

Amores Perros
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
The Conversation
City of God
Primer
Children of Men
Pan's Labyrinth
The Assassination of Jessie James by the Coward Robert Ford
Requiem For a Dream
Heat
Perfect Blue
Rififi
The Truman Show

Since you like PT Anderson... Hard Eight?

I don't think you will like it too much from your list, the second half is just shoot it up.

Other movies I think you will like:

Traffic
Being John Malkovich
Road to Perdition
Crash
The Pianist

These I've seen

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Seen it Meh it's ok but not a fav
Amores Perros - interesting
Children of Men - very good
Pan's Labyrinth - an amazing film! Definitely recommend this to anyone!
Requiem For a Dream - yes wonderful
Heat - one of the best heist movie / suspense thriller ever made
The Truman Show - Meh not my favourite. One of Jim Carrey's better roles but not something I ended up liking.

These I have not:

The Conversation - Hmm interesting!
City of God - ahh yes I definitely want to see this, I've heard of it before.
Primer - an odd but interesting looking one
The Assassination of Jessie James by the Coward Robert Ford - not sure I like to look of the cast for this one.
Perfect Blue - I've been wanting to see this too
Rififi - do you mean Du rififi chez les hommes?

And as for Hard eight I've seen it too. Not Anderson's best work by far but fun to watch IMO.

May I suggest in turn:

Metropolis
Dark City

Requiem for a Dream - Fantastic!
Natural Born Killers - Seen bits and pieces of it. Doesn't look good to me.
Blue Velvet - I think I've seen bit of this as well. David Lynch is always interestng if not always successful.
A Clockwork Orange - seen it, a classic!
The Departed - very very good! Scorsese seems to have one Goodfellas story after another in him and all of them top notch though nothing will top the original!

Have you seen Casino?

Traffic - Fantastic! seen it
Being John Malkovich - Not that interested in this.
Road to Perdition - From what I've heard from friends and family with the same tastes as mine I don't think I'd like this, though you never know.
Crash - Talk about erotic! Very strange and sexy! Seen it.
The Pianist - Very good but no Shindler's List.
