re. Galvanic corrosion: If all the aluminum is anodized, there is no issue. Most that don't do anodized usually coat the aluminum with something. And there are surface treatments you can get from caig.com (mcmaster.com has some caig products at decent prices but doesn't name them specifically) that render the dissimilar metals issue moot as well.

Incorrect. Case windows easily pop off with a light blow from a fist, even an 8 year old could muster the power needed to get in.

So in other words, get the black case and all should be ok?

It was my understanding that all the sheet aluminum in LL cases is anodized. So it doesn't matter whether silver or black.

Do you have this case? How much clearance is there between the back of the PSU and the d drive cage/5.25 bay? Very nice, but very expensive. It also appears to have a top fan.

AS i said if your monster psu is that big, you can remove one of the drive cages. Most people use that case for H2O cooling. They take out all the drive cages, and install a front drive cage to compensate for the loss in the bottom portion.

The case is absolutely hot. There isnt a single TJ-07 owner that will tell you they hate there case. Ive owned one, and had to sell it. My cousin wouldnt take my old QX6700 without the case.

As always, Silverstone gives up functional design for other factors, mainly appearance. It is a nice large case, built like a tank but that's about it. I wish they would consult with someone who knows how PCs function before they crank out their high-end designs. Really no excuse for lacks in style, construction or functionality at that price point. The Temjin 7 only does a really good job on two of the three...

If I were to buy a TJ07, I'd be buying two smaller PSUs instead of a 1kW unit and save a bunch O' bux. Ditto with a Stacker if I were to buy one. Nutz to buy that big of a PSU...

1) I knew before the purchase, that it would not fit every case on the market. So this thread is of no surprise to me.

2) Other PSU's lack the degree voltage stability and regulation the 1KW-SR holds. Other PSU companies don't allow you to send the unit back to them for upgrades. Other PSUs have short cables. Other PSUs cannot take the Florida heat with out smoking and catching fire.

I have been reading nice things about the TJ-07 in various user groups. Perhaps if I wait till January of 2008 for the TJ-08 release, the TJ-07 will drop in price.

Why does anyone need a 1KW PSU? You don't have 50+ HDDs do you? It only takes ~600W Max to power a quad core + 2900XT crossfire.

I noticed theft protection in the list, and if you really want theft protection, then you want a case thats much less expensive than $250

EMF is the number one reason for not wanting a window, theft is number two, and not listed is number three: I don't want to look at the internals.

My OLD PSU has too little capacity, I got a decent deal on a good quality PC Power and Cooling PSU that has all the newest connections and this PSU should be the the last PSU I will ever buy, because PC Power and Cooling will retrofit my unit with what ever newer connection I need.

I am not worried about the case being lifted, a simple steel cable can strap it down to what ever heavy object is near by.

Well I'm running a Lian Li G70 along with a PCP&C 1KW-SR (which BTW fits in either the upper or lower PSU slot with ease. I'm also running twin 120mm fans with a radgrillz on top to give you an idea of how much room this case has.

The PC-A71 and A70 are roughly the same dimensions so any of these should easily facilitate your needs.

Are the A70 and A71 the same case with the difference being the front bezel?

Eeek, the Dawn of the Living Thread! A quick perusal of the photo galleries of the two cases at Newegg will answer your question w/o the need to reanimate a long-dead thread, but since I wasted my time doing so, the answer is yes. Long been such with LL part numbers: 0=no door, 1=door.

It's better than starting a new thread.

The galleries are small, do not provide dimensions, and many of which are incomplete; especially the latest PC-V2010. I ask this question because I procrastinated in making my purchase and have hung on to my falling apart Antec and now that I am ready to drop the ball on a PC-A71; that is until I stumble upon the cheaper PC-A70. They appear similar but different, though how much is different between them?
