Recognizing DVD burner

I have a new Hp dvd300vi DVD burner and I can not get Nero or Instantcopy to work with it. With both programs it does not recognize the drive as a dvd burner. I have a Cd-rw drive also in the system, it recognizes that.

Any ideas?

The program that came with it burnt to it, but I need to use another one so that I can make DVD videos. Yes I have ASPI installed.
 
check to make sure you have the latest version of the software that you are trying to use. Check the manufacture's website for the latest version. Some software will not recognize the newest burners unless they are updated.
