recieving email as text messages on cell phones?

i remember some 'email my pager' type services back in the day where i could send an email to <my phone number>@someprovider.com and then have the email sent to my cell phone as a text message.

anyone know of any providers or 3rd party services taht do that kinda stuff?

What provider do you have?

For verizon, you can just e-mail <phonenumber>@vzwtext.com ...


I'm sure most other carriers have something similiar....
 
hrm i think its @vtext.com for verizon at least thats whats been working for me when i want to send to friends on verizon.

Good for ANY cell phone provider. Ideal because you don't always know the provider of the person you want to text message and you don't have to remember 10 different text message email addresses.
