Hey Guys,

I'm looking for some a good 4 AA NiMH rechargable battery kit..

Any suggestions on brand?

I am using it in my Canon A70 Powershot Dig. Cam. (Canon has them on backorder)

Any help greatly appreciated... Anandtech.com another reason to defend freedom of speech!

I agree, check out Thomas Distributing all your information. I bought two sets of PowerEX 1800s (when 1800mAH batteries were the highest rated) from TD along with a Maha quick charger. Great service and a nice variety of products on their site.

did you guys find any comparison on the web for batteries or is it based on your own experience?

My experience is based mostly on the Sub C cells, but it comes from R/C touring car racing. Batts are everything there. The GP cells seem to be the highest output and largest capacity right now. All your other cells are going to be made my panasonic or sanyo. The Panasonic Ultrametals are not bad but they don't have them in AA size.

Thanks for the link! Has anyone tried the Maha PowerEx 2200's?

I have not tried them but I am sure that they are great, but you can buy 8 1800'f for $22 or 4 2200's for $18 for me I would rather have the extra batteries. I have the 1800's and they last me 200/300 pic's per charge on my Fuji 2600.

I hear the 2200's don't have a sharp drop off discharge curve either. So that means your camera will think they dumped before they did not giving a measurable increase in capacity over the 1800s.

Energizer now has their Ni-MH up to 2100mAH capacities. Just got 4 for around $10 over at Walmart. And they are to be used with my Canon A70:).
