Reception from Google Voice through Gmail?

Anyone use the voice chat from gmail? I've been having issues with bad reception.

I can hear the other person fine but they're having a hard time hearing me.

I don't think it's my mic because it works fine in other software.

It usually has to do with which data network you are on. Skype is useless on Edge but great on 3G.

Err...wait. Is this on your PC?

It's Google Talk (pc version). Yea, check your mic.

Using this mic, it appears to work fine in other software.

it's possible the other software is using a mic boost when google voice relies on the windows mic boost

try to see if the volume is down in windows or mic boost is turned off
