you realize most of the money was spent on the storage and monitor, components that, as far as i can tell, have the longest usable life...so he's not stupid...maybe some ppl would have chosen a different monitor setup but still...he can play games on his crt and watch movies on the kickass lcd...

congrats on your purchase man

It is my choice if I want to buy a 30 inch monitor, the Dell is not bad, but I dont want that small of a screen, if I wanted to go plasma I would have but I have no need I already have a nice TV, I might consider the dell for my other computer though. Its funny all these people complaining about how I choose to spend my money.

If you already have a nice TV, then why buy a second TV? Because that 30" NEC LCD is a TV. You could have just hooked your old TV up to the comp... But I would def. choose LCD over Plasma... Sweet panel in general.

yeah but I but i would have to sit at a diagonal angle to see my tv, and plasma has way to high of a maintance cost if it breaks down which can happen with anything. Plus my 36 song vega does just fine as a tv

Quit trying to call him out. If he really has the $$$ or he is BS'ing what's it to you? Judging from all the reponses of "rich kid" and how he "wastes" his own money there are quite a few jealous people around here. Look if he really has it I applaud his decision to purchase alot. People with the duckets need to purchase the cutting edge and top notch in order for companies to continue to innovate. If everyone waited until things became "affordable" to most of the posters then companies would never have an incentive to take a chance on the 9800XTs, LCDs, AMD64 and the P4s that eventually you enjoy when the price comes down enough. If he doesn't have the $$ he's a dreamer and likes to waste his and other peoples time, either way who cares? Just don't let him waste anymore of yours.

To all of you cracking on him.... affordability is a relative term. It may look expensive to your bank account, but a drop in the bucket to someone else?s. As far as sensibility that is mostly dependent on affordability. What is sensible to one may not be to another. But it's just plain ignorant to chastise his decisions based on your little world.

Sweet rig. My only question is about the 9800XT. Does it have the same functions as a AIW card?

If you are looking to hook a stereo to that, check this out.

This seems pretty close to calling BS. Come on, someone must be thinking this is BS. Speak up.

Fine then.

I call BS.

yeah you people are pretty lame, you have spent all your time chastising me especially about how I spend my money, and I will say it again my money. Just because it seems like a waste of money to you because you dont have the money to waste, doesnt mean I myself do not have the funds to purchase the components that I did. Call bs, whatever or whatever you want. I could careless its not your pc, your funds, or your choice. So until you have an sort of proof that I dont own it, your speculations are laughable at best. And I havent commented on taking pictures because I dont not need to prove anything to anyone and I already own a digital camera. So maybe I will humor you with pictures maybe not.
