Electrical/Computer Engineering. I had an offer for about $75-80k, but I didn't take it because I want to get to grad school out of the way before I start working.

I'm kind of surprised, I thought the average would be a bit higher. Especially since there's a higher percentage of people on this forum that have a science/technology/engineering type background.
It also depend on the working location. And, IMHO many ATOTers & other forums people tend to pad their wage number to boost their ego.

You hear lots of stories of people making 70K right out college with engineering and science degrees. In reality, it is not that common.

Yeah people laughed at FP engineering students until they heard a girl making 60K out the gate. I think it really depends on where you go to work - location changes everything. Gov't jobs also pay pretty decently at the low-end. E.g. 63K for Patent Office - that actually drew quite a few engineers there. I passed the FE, so I potentially could still try that out. Sad that I'm only _just_ getting there after 3 years (at my current job).

First job was temping at $14 an hour with months off between jobs.

First real job, right now, is low $40k. Hoping to get up to low $50 with another entry level position opening up.

$50,000 w/ $4,000 signing bonus, CT, contracts administrator at an aerospace company, commercial division.

BrownTown is going to be a bastard and point out that he made $115,000 in his first full year out of college despite the fact that he claimed everyone in ATOT was a liar for saying they made that much at this age.

You must be feeling pretty smug right now. My best friend bought a brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo while he was still in college, all from his own pocket. Point is, there's always someone to one-up you.

Well there was that one guy on here that was self made millionaire in college though. The fact is that what I was pointing out only tells half the story because I make the same amount of money as most other people here coming out of college, I just work more hours. IF you work 3300 hours in a year you have to be able to act a little smug in your free time to possible justify it. I would like to know what your friend did to make 100k in college though, that seems pretty amazing.

I'm confused. are you quoting someone or talking in third person?

you won't be so smug when TVA stops paying you OT.

yeah, but I might actually have a real life then. Besides they are never going to stop paying OT, they are just gonna start laying 10% of the people off each month starting in 2 months. TBH I don't even know what a 40 hour week feals like, I have only worked that 3 weeks in my life. My "normal" week is 72 hours, 60 seems like so much free time I don't know what to do with myself.

i heard from someone at BFN that they were going to stop

why would someone at Browns Ferry know how much overtime I am going to get at Watts Bar? Besides, as soon as we get WBN2 going we will just start working on Unit 1 at Bellefonte.
