receiving beep post code, but computer seems fine

I recently moved from 2 x 512 MB of RAM to 4 x 512 MB. After upgrading the RAM, my computer started beeping upon startup.

My first instinct is to leave the computer alone since it seems to be working fine. Should I be worried about this? Other than the slightly annoying beeps when I turn the computer on, everything seems fully functional and stable.

I looked up the beep code in the manual for my motherboard, and the manual says it means there is a problem with the video card. However, everything seems to display fine, and I'm able to play games without an issue (finally playing through the Orange Box!). Windows recognizes the entire 2 GB of RAM.

My system is:
Athlon 64 3500+ socket 939
nForce 4 EVGA Motherboard with AMI BIOS (at work, don't have exact model number)
XFX nVidia 7600 GT
4 x 512 MB of 400 MHz DDR RAM
Running Windows XP Pro, (shouldn't make a difference since the issue occurs during POST)

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with a gigabyte nforce4 motherboard at work. I must have 50 of the motherboards and only one would randomly beep that the memory was bad or incorrectly seated. It ran fine no matter if it beeped or not. Finally I updated the bios and unplugged the speaker. That was the end of that problem, however I do not think there was anything wrong with the memory. The motherboard is probably just a little whacked out.
