Receiver recommedations...$300-500?

So my sony reciever is crapping out. I need to get a new one.

Basic features would be...

- A/B speaker switching (a must, since I have patio speakers)
- 5.1 or greater, and all the audio decoding options
- Easy to use remote (not a must but preferable)
- A good "boost" for the rear-channel speaks would be a plus

Anyone have good luck with a receiver in this price range?

I'm not sure about the boost, but the Outlaw Audio Model 1050 should suit the bill.

also the new JVC 8030 for just over $300 looks good on paper, with plenty of inputs and stereo pseudo-surround for headphone listening.
