SORRY, still conffused.

i saw the bose, and tried them on, and they were awesome, small enough to travel with. so i need similar size, and specs.

bose triports plain suck. Just listen to the people who know what they're talking about and get a Sennheiser- anything they offer over $100 is decent and leagues better than Bose. If you want similar specs to the Bose, I suggest getting the PX100 for $50- except they sound better than the Bose and don't have cheap paper drivers, built like crap, and are not marketed towards naive people. The Koss Portapros are also quite decent for a guy on a budget.

Sennheiser do have a few good models, as does Bose. Sennheiser also have many bad models, as does bose.
Take your fanboyism elsewhere.
Ask on www.head-fi.com if you want a serious response.

Here's one head-fi thread on the triports: Link

And the obligatory link on Bose business strategy: Link

FWIW, most Sonys are garbage too, as you can see by searching head-fi. I'd give you the traditional Senn/Grado/Shure recommendation, but there are certainly other good brands, and Grados probably aren't what you're looking for, since they're all open and it sounds like you want a closed phone (open phones don't attenuate outside noise, and others can hear what you're listening to). I will suggest canalphones, as they offer isolation, high sound quality, and extremely small size. The premiere manufacturers of them are Shure and Etymotic.

I have a $20 pair of Sony Headphones, the VM-150's i think, work really well, sound really great, very comfortable, but don't plan on taking these to school daily.
