reccomend me some nice (but cheap) 2.1 speakers!!

the logitechs z340's look nice but a friend has had to RMA his logitechs 2x. so i'm here looking for advice

dont give up on the logitech z-340s. i've put them in over 10 systems that i've built and havent had a single problem. i even use them on my backup pc. i think that they are great for the money.

i like my altec lansing atp3 that i got at OD. some sale over a year ago for $30. the satellites dont take up much space and it has the volume control (as well as bass and treble) easily accessible on the right speaker, versus on the sub down below or non-existent.

the sound quality is good as well. i came home for lunch last week and heard music playing as soon as i walked in. it was pretty loud and i assumed it was from the denon receiver and my surround sound in the living room, but my wife was actually playing mp3s on the computer. i was surprised at the sound quality at that level.

I have the samsung ystm50 on one system and the z-340 on another. I prefer the ystm50.

prolly outta your range, but i'd recommend the Klipsch 2.1. for cheaper, get logitechs like the others were suggesting.

Got 5.1 logitechs z640's $67 at newegg. If you can find them the videologic zxr-200's are pretty good for the price.
