Reccomend a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I'm building a custom cherry desk right now and the top is about 60" x 28" with a lacquer finish. I don't want to damage to top by writing on it so I'm getting this desk pad http://www.amazon.com/Satechi-Black-Protector-desktops-laptops/dp/B00D3RDWBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389888686&sr=8-1&keywords=desk+pad which has a surface about 24 1/2"L x 14"W. It will house the mouse, keyboard and have a space out front to write notes.

The problem I'm finding with the keyboard and mouse combos is that once you get to the ones like the Logitech MK520 that have a full sized mouse the keyboards start to get bulky which will consume my note writing area.

Anyone know of a good K/B & mouse combo that has a full size mouse and a compact yet full size keyboard, I'm trying to avoid the extra shortcut buttons and the built in wrist rest.

I use a wired mouse, but love my Logitech K800 KB.

Amazon lists the dimension at 8.9 x 19.1 inches, is that right, it seems huge. My Dell basic keyboard at work is only about 5.5 x 17.5. I'm going all wireless since the desk is very airy, here a rendered model but mine will be cherry. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the speakers as well. I currently have a pretty small sub with 2 speakers and a separate cord with volume selector. I've even thought of somehow mounting them under the desk in the apron so you can't see them, not sure how that would sound though.
