I've got class after work, and the last couple of times I got a burger... which was good, but I need to eat more healthfully, at least sometimes.

What's a good healthy and tasty meal from Wendy's? or just anything not a fatburger :)

i usually get the .99 chix sandwhich and a side salad. just watch the salad dressing as it can be kinda fattening. a baked potato (not the one with bacon and cheese tho) doesn't seem a bad way to go either.

If I stop by wendy's, I'll usually have either their grilled chicken sandwich (no mayo), or one of their grilled chicken salads with fat-free dressing. I might also throw in a plain baked potato and/or side salad (if getting the sandwich), depending on how hungry I am.

Edit: Also forgot to mention their chili, which I believe is surprisingly healthy as well.

Edit (again): Just remember that if you're going for healthy, stay far, FAR away from any of the breaded and fried chicken sandwiches. They often times will have more fat (and trans fat) than the hamburgers.

Wendy's has an online nutrition calculator you can use to get the nutrition information on various meal selections.

Most of the fastfood will be rather no-so-healthy; I don't know about any food-storage options you may have in class, but maybe you could pack food? Even if you're not packing the whole meal, if you can bring an apple, maybe some decent granola-bar type thing, or just something to round out the Wendy's. It might help keep you from getting bored with the food. I like my local hippie-food store, which has hoppers of various trail mixes and dried fruits. If you have a decent car-cooler then your options open up a bit; for instance, you could bring your own drink and dodge the high-fructose corn syrup in their sodas. So you could just rotate through a smaller number of menu items by varying your accompaniment, rather than eating the same old thing over and over (or ending up getting a bacon-double-cheese burger).

The chili is nice; I've had good luck 'souping' it up a bit with a cheddar cheese-stick. The deli sandwiches are probably pretty fatty if Wendy's sauces them up. My local Wendy's doesn't consistently have potatoes, but they're not really driving-my-way-to-work food.

Nothing! I use to work at Wendys, and use to eat there everyday until I moved, and I stopped eating fast food.

Went in for chicken sandwhich, chili, and a diet soda. Well I threw up hours later and pooped blood!

And according to Arby's, Wendy's chickens are only 70% chicken!

I agree, baked potato & chili is probably good for most people...the chili is quite high in sodium, but I'm just looking for protein and preferably "low" fat, so I usually get a chili and a chicken sandwich, occasionally a baked potato.

More 'Poisonous' Trans Fats Found in US Fast Foods

"... 'More Harmful Than Any Other Kind of Fat'

Partially hydrogenated vegetable oil is cooking oil that has been injected with hydrogen to harden it and give it a longer shelf life. Switching to liquid vegetable oils such as canola, corn, olive or soy eliminates the trans fat..."

"... Trans fat raises bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol. Eating just 5 grams of it per day increases the risk of heart disease 25 percent, research shows.

"Per gram, it is more harmful than any other kind of fat," Stender said. "It's a metabolic poison." ..."

Go to store, buy apple instead?

Take some REAL food from home before you leave for work. Fast food =! healthy, no matter how "low carb or diet or small" you get it.
