Dude! I may love you!
See, I have my desk and bed next to each other, pointing in the same direction (I.e. my Dell 2408 and my feel are pointing toward the same wall). I sometimes want to watch stuff from my bed, but that requires laying crosswise on my bed (not a big deal) and moving the monitor out to about where my keyboard is, and then rotating it 90 degrees to point perpendicular to my bed (instead of parallel). That's also not a huge deal, but I feel like something like this:

would just mean I'd have to pull it out, and then point it at my bed. And hopefully, it'd work just as well as the current stand.
And for $20, it's certainly worth trying! Innnnnteresting....
Edit: After reading reviews, I'm amazed. Everyone said the build is top notch and there's even a guy in the same situation as me. Only downsides seem to be you can't tilt to portrait mode (which I don't do anyway) and that the monitor angle is hard to adjust, which is too bad, since in "computer mode" you want the monitor tilted slightly up, for ergonomics, and in "watching from the bed mode" I'd want it flat or tilted slightly down, since my bed is lower than my desk. But I can't quibble for $20!
It's to the point where I feel like you could buy these and resell them on craigslist for people -- like me -- who didn't know monoprice sold stuff like this. The closest I've seen for something like this was around $100. Wow.
