You say DE and DE-IE crash your computer. What are its specs? and do you have the latest drivers and game patches?

Finally go to the nvidia site for game DEMOS ... skip their propaganda ... just D/L the demos ... identical to other demos ... just no waiting or signup. 😉

HL2 and CH1 ... how far back?

Q4 and especially "Riddick: EfBB" are very good FPSes.

you did mention FEAR or it's x-pak don't run well ... it's 10x7 for most systems ... soft shadows OFF.

B&W2 is an awesome Godgame/RTS ... starts slow ... no dragons.

PainKiller and BoOH are FPSes with *depth* ... undocumented weapons combos and unlockable levels.

Finally there is KoTOR if you like Star wars RPGs ... unfortunately the fighting style is like NWN2 ... but the Story is awesome

Far Cry and the Matto4 mod ... Star Wars JKII:JO, Max Payne Series, Thief Series are are *recommended*

I have the same card and can play them just fine. They have a few issues with dual cores, but it's possible to get around those and it looks like you have a single core anyway. Are you getting any error message or anything?

It is an RPG/FPS hybrid, uses the Half Life 2 engine, I bought my copy from Direct2Drive for $30 and it is well worth far more than that. Excellent game, but be sure to use the unofficial 3.2 patch, it fixes a good deal of problems and even adds a lil bit of the excluded content that was left out when Activision forced the developers to release the game too early. The game was made by the people who created the Fallout RPGs.

Just load up Starcraft (best RTS ever made) and give it a go. I can't imagine any modern or semi-modern PC not being able to run it.

how is harry potter trite and hackneyed (which mean the same exact thing btw)?
sure it has the fantasy elements in it but its doen completely different than other stuff, except Discworld.

I'll give it another try , but are there special configs that you set up to run it. I don't have dual core. so That isn't my block.

yea man you got me. I hate the traditional fantasy "the european stuff' the japanese fantasy with cute anime girls, i'm alrite with, but only cuz u know, cute anime girls/characters that look plain rediculous, but hey, it's my cup o t.

HL2 i've played too many times, "memorized the game, ch1 included"

Fear, it just looks bad on my comp idk why. it's probably my monitor can't really use aa at native resolution . so it looks crappy

I don't have the patience for B&W. I played the first one, "enjoyed it" up until my town burned town from a single fireball that some how rolled through the thing while i was monster dueling.

I will look into Painkiller and max payne as someone mentioned before.

Not a Starwars/trek fan. I just can't wrap around the foam consoles and such. I think light-sabers are lame compared to the masamune.

Thief, "i remember seeing that box for thief 4 at a best buy" will look for it.

I only like chess with people, the online thing sometimes i think they're cheating.

That's what I mean. The overdone Fantasy elements. I mean are they ever going to come out with anything beyond spells that heal you, elemental damage. Thats why i really wanna play the Deus EX thing, but as i've said above, crash like a mofo.

Yeah, that's it. TMNationsESWC_setup.exe

Go through the solo stuff just to get a feel for the steering, speed, etc. And the crazy loops, etc. After that, get online (lots of servers out there) and race in one of the race modes. It ain't easy cause there are so many unique tracks. Pick a server or two, learn the tracks and if you play enough you can become competitive. You will most definitely suck at the beginning. In fact, I have trouble just staying on the tracks. BTW, I don't use a steering wheel....just a gamepad. Alot of people have mastered the keyboard.

You can also design your own tracks. There is a new Trackmania out....Trackmania United which is similar to Nations but has some enhancements and costs $50 to DL. Haven't tried that yet.

Dude, the training is kinda rediculous, Some of these are like next to impossible. You could be 0:00:20 off and u'll never get that gold medal.

Since you mentioned racing games, one you might want to try is Ballistics. It's an arcade style racer that is a lot of fun to play mainly because of its sheer sensation of speed, which is way beyond anything else I've seen. Speeds of over 2000mph are not uncommon and it actually feels like you're going that fast. It's fairly old now (2001) but you can get it off ebay pretty cheap and there is a demo available somewhere.

Yo man, I'm really really frustrated. I mean, these tracks, they're just not coherent, i guess that's part of the game, but OMG,, my head and trigger finger hurts.

Do you recommend using analog acceleration or single button. Cuz dame. this is hard and most of the time, idk which way is up
