Rebuilding after fatal crash

I had a fatal computer crash, but luckily I have all my data backed up. Unfortunately, the crappy software I use, BounceBack Express, can't do a disaster recovery and Geek Squad told me I needed to start over.

I have but I'd like to import my emails from my old Outlook into the new. Also, I'd like to grab my old links for explorer. Can someone walk me through those two processes?

Just got off the phone with Microsoft, so might as well put the solution to the email thing in here. Just find the backup version of the Outlook.pst and import it into your new Outlook.

Still don't know how to import the favorites yet as the phone person said she couldn't help with that.

Favorites are easy to restore ... they are stored in c:/documents and settings/your user profile/Favorites.

Copy the favorites file from your backup into your user-profile in the new Windows install & overwrite the existing default version.
