Hi, I got a little problem here. Today I used various old spares part in hope of creating a htpc for the living room. I mage to install window xp on it and installed some media problem. However, when I try playing soem mkv file with vlx player, my computer will just reboot. I am not quite sure what could be the problem. Here are the folow parts

AMD 2500XP
1 gig of ddr ram
160 gig hard drive
Geforce 5200FX

I am hoping someone can point me to the right direction as to what to check.

Check for CPU temperatures. Check for basic system stability by running utilities for memory and CPU.

Is there a "recommanded" driver for old card like 5200 fx? I try the newest recommand and the pc went ape shit on me.

Anyway, I enter safe mode and removed the video driver, boot back to normal and video actually play.

Update: I remove the driver in safe mode and now the media file play but the screen is stuck in 4:3 format while my 32 inch tv is 720p tv. When I try to install the driver, the computer went completely blank and I need to reboot the pc... Is it safe to say the card is busted?
