O.K. ladies and gents lets try this again. I'm kinda a newbie in the OC world. I just built my first machine as follows:
8IRXP motherboard (utilizing on-board NIC)(bios rev6)
P4 2.0 retail CPU (Northwood)
GeForce 3 Ti-500 (primary)
ATI 16mb video PCI (secondary)
Maxtor 60gb 7200 rpm
Plextor 24/10/40 burner
Creative SoundBlaster Live Value
Windows 2000 Pro
512mb Corsair PC2100
So here's the prob - I'm attempting to OC the machine to run at 2.2 (no big deal right? 10% OC) I did it by going into the bios and upping the CPU host frequency to 110 instead of 100 which yields a memory frequency of 292mhz, and the PCI/AGP speeds bump up to 36/69. When ever the machine boots cold (after being powered down for more than 4 hours), it boots up fine. However, when I get all the way back to my desktop and it looks like everything went fine, BAM, I get a quick blue screen flash (it says something but I can't read it because it happens too fast) and the machine reboots. Once it reboots it seems to remain stable, even if I turn it off and let it sit for a couple minutes and then turn it back on. The problem doesn't occur on further reboots until the computer has been powered down for more than a couple of hours. Any ideas how I should try to troubleshoot this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Tunes4life
