Rebliability of Intel 845pe motherboards

HI All

Im about to buy a 845pe based motherboard. I have narrowed it down to 4 boards:

Aopen ax4pe
Asus p4pe
Intel Pebt2
Msi 845 max

I am tilting toward the Asus p4p4 but Its reliability is questionable. What do u guys think?
This is goin to be used for an office computer no games or overclocking.

thanks

For an office computer with no overclocking, INTEL board is the BEST. If you are building the machine today, you may also want to take a close look at the INTEL 875P Canterwood board. IMO, there is no point in building a 854PE chipset based machine given that Canterwood is out and Springdale as early as next week.

probably any of those will be good.
i am very satisfied with my EPoX 845pe.. has given me zero problems, and has features galore.

I would go with an Intel board. I currently use the 845pebt2 and it is rock solid. If you don't plan on overclocking go with Intel. Very Reliable in my experience over the years. Also make sure you get name brand ram if you are going with pc2700 memory. There is a lot generic memory out there that doesn't run well @ pc2700 rated speeds. I had this problem with two sticks of generic kingston pc2700, and this problem is discussed in length on Google user groups. I rma'ed the kingston branded chips and they sent me Hynix brand chips that work great @ pc2700. I would recommend crucial memory for price to perfermance for non-overclockers using an Intel Board.

Hope this helps.....

If it is an Office machine with no games or overclocking I would say go with the Intel board or an Abit BH-7. Both are very stable and it doesn't sound like you need any extras. The BH-7 is more stable IMO than any of the boards you listed (except the Intel) or any from Gigabyte, Epox or Soyo. Unless you need Firewire or RAID those would be my choice.

stability is almost stupid anymore... everything is almost just as good as one another.. my computer must be stable cause i leave it on for weeks at a time without a reboot.. i've never had any stability issues with the last 4 computers i've had... get whatever suits your needs best according to price, availability, etc.
