What shoudl I do now. I have the mouse but no rebate.

I just bought one in MD also (Rockville) and no rebate printed out. I asked them to double check and cashier said theres a $20 rebate that expired on 3/1. Theres still about 5 left in the store but if the rebate doesn't apply to MD Best Buys, I guess we're out of luck.

someone please clarify which receipt we need to copy and send with the rebate?

I did not have the yellow receipt either, I just didnt want the rebate to be marked as return, then a purchase at the new price. I am not familiar with how that works.

For those who wonder. If you dont have a local officemax, the 30 off rebate will not even print out.

are you talking about the $30 best buy rebate? yes it does!

I'm starting to really dislike the BB CSR desk. I go in, grab a mouse, walk up to the desk and say 'I'd like to PM to OfficeMax'. I don't have the flyer, and she calls and LIES and say that officemax has it for the same price they do: 79.99 and won't do the PM. So then I have to get in my car, drive over to OfficeMax, grab a flyer and drive back. Then I did the whole buy it, goto the car, THEN go to the CSR to get the 110% PM, and the same girl is there. I give her the flyer and she starts inspecting it, like I'm going to give her a fake one or something. Then she takes the flyer and my receipt and has to go 'look' for a manager for ten minutes, and then goes and talks to a manager for about fifteen minutes before she FINALLY prints out the yellow copy and gives me the PM. This has to be one of the most tedius deals I've done yet.
SO: if you live in Augusta, GA, watch out for Christine(i think her name was) at the CSR desk, she's not too co-operative...though they still have plenty left, so go for it, just look for a different rep.

i also talked to the best buy rebate center about this rebate...for those of you who bought it first, then did the price match, she said you definitely still qualify for the rebate. just put a note in the envelope with the 2 receipts (your original rebate receipt and a copy of the yellow thing) stating that you did a price match adjustment.

I just spoke with "Michelle" at the BB rebate center to confirm exactly what is needed to send in for the rebate. They require the following:

1) The Rebate Form
Prints at the register when you make the purchase.

2) The Rebate Receipt
Also prints at the register. Says "Rebate Receipt" in all caps across the top. This is not the sales reciept

3) UPC from the box
On the box . . .

According to Michelle, the original sales reciept is not required. This is a good thing for me since the CSR guy wrote "Pricematch $49.99" across my sales reciept.

So the plan of attack is to buy the mouse outright, thereby obtaining the Rebate Form and Rebate Reciept. Go kill a few moments somewhere (I drove to office max to grab a flyer, just across the mall for me). Come back, leave the Rebate Form and Rebate Reciept in your car, and obtain the pricematch. Then leave with your $47 mouse and mail in the rebate.

Good luck,

B

Nice! Start reading the boards again for the first time in ages cause it's that upgrade time again, and see this deal. Picked one up here in Vegas. No problems at all, but the guy in front of me was doing the same so an eyebrow was partially raised when I came up next. This will make a nice start to the new system I'm researching to build.

Grrr... I can't decide.

I really don't like the button placement on the MX700, I much prefer it on the M$ Explorer ... but for $15 less and with the charger right there I dunno if I can resist. I was all set to buy the wireless Explorer this week too.

Time to search around for opinions/reviews and make another decision.

This is not a thread crap but a BB is/are suck rant.
I go to the nearest BB and they are out, but the guy looks on the computer and there are two across town.
I call and talk to "Chris", (who states he is the only on for the rest of the night) and tell him to hold one for me; and give him my name and a rhyme so he does't forget it.
He confirms that he has the last one in his hot little hand and has put it away for me.

I drive over and "Chris" states that he can't find it, when I ask for it. But he "remembers" leaving it right "there" and points to a stupid hiding place where anybody can see it.
Curses, foiled again!:disgust:
The Sad Sack that got my MX700 better watch over his shoulder!:|

Phooey! I liked the Microsoft Bluetooth combo way better.

I love the feel of the mx700. I am a pretty serious gamer and I have been using a blue logitech optical (the one with the light up blue logitech light), and the Mx700 feels a lot nicer to my hand. It also glides a lot better on my surface 1030 func industries mouse pad. This may be due to the wearing down of the pads on my old mouse when cleaning them; I usually scratch the crud off with my finger nail which is not recommended to do :) Also, the mx700 is heavier, probably due to the batteries, but if I remember correctly they put a removable weight on the inside. The thumb buttons are higher than the old model, which is something I will have to get used to. You cannot press them without moving your thumb up out of the thumb groove on the mouse. One more thing is that the cursor movement seems slightly more than with the old mouse. I have both mice plugged in, and the new one seems to move more pixels as the minimum movement. Overall the mouse feels great so far. Another thing I am impressed by is that the infrared goes right thru stuff, like my cat. Some people probably know this but I did not know how that worked. It says to keep the base 8 inches away from any electrical devices so I have it in the far back corner of my desk. Right now my cat is sitting between the mouse and the base and it works fine. Hopefully he won't get cancer :) Time for some Quake3.

I got two of these this morning, pricematched them right at the register while she was ringing them up.

No problems....

Gave one to my dad.. :)

Anyone know if I need the hard copy of the original sales receipt for the rebate, or would a "xeroxed" copy of the original sales receipt suffice. This is in case they write something on it or confiscate it in turn for a yellow copy. Thanks for the help! Good luck with the PM's... ;)

I really hate this mouse. I mean, as a mouse it's great, and it looks cool, and it has a very cool charging cradle. But there's one problem. THE SOFTWARE!!!

Christ alive, you can't customize the buttons to do different things in different applications. I am amazed that Logitech doesn't offer this seeing as it is such a simple idea that Microsoft has included with it's mice for years. To have the mouse setup so that you can control every program in a different way is so addictive and intuitive that I am amazed that more people haven't become angry with logitech for not including it. I guess you can't miss something that you've never had.

I am going to write to Logitech and state that their software has to be updated if they hope to keep up with Microsoft's offerings. And to think, I got this mouse because it has 3 more buttons than my trusty Intellimouse Explorer 3.0.

hehehe

That was the only problem I had with my MX500 too. I switched from my Explorer 3.0. I love the feel and it works great, but I really really hate the software. The acceleration is either too low or too high... The first version of these drivers were much worse... at least it got a lot better. I hope they come out with another set of drivers... better ones...

I haven't really owned a microsoft mouse but Logitech makes some of the best mice for your money! I've only had 3 mice since 1995. I liked the first one so much (the logitech mouseman 95) that i bought the same kind again (logitech gaming mouseman, different color same design). And i'm finally replacing it now with this mx700 only cause.... well its 16 bux ( BIG :) ). But I definitely gotta vouch for Logitech's mice.... some of the best, most reliable products you can get on the market.

ok, at my best buy they have a tag that says $79.99 with a $30 rebate to make it $49.99. will i still be able to price match it to office max's $49.99 since the best buy is the same price after rebate?

That's why this deal varies depending on store/person you ask to PM. The rest of the thread has some people saying it works and some saying it doesn't.

traverse city, MI

in and out in 10 minutes (extra five min looking for a ps2 game for my son) got the rebate and both receipts at the registar without a hassle. very sweet mouse but i have one concern or issue with it... i plugged it out and charged it. when it was ready to use i couldn't get the cursor to move. i figured it had to do with the surface and it was. i have an all black desk and don't use a mouse pad. this works great for my explorer 3.0 (which doesnt operate on all white/clear backgrounds). this mouse seems to be the opposite in not capturing the all black background but it works just fine on all white??

also, anyone remember the issues this mouse had with windowxp when it first came out? i believe it had to do with the one of the buttons or wheel? anyone know what this actual problem was and whether it was fixed or not with a newer driver release? i have what seems to be the latest mouseware (mw975) drivers from the website installed and all seems to be running ok so far - just wondering really.
