Still no $50 rebate for the SonicBlue Rio600 back in like Late January / Early February. I've had great experience with best buy rebates up till this one, and this one is for $50 too. damn! Anyone get it yet, my status doesn't even show that any checks were printed or anything was approved. I know everything was correct and i'm also sorry I didn't get a chance to make photocopy's of this rebate, woops 🙁
Still nothing from Wheresmyrebate.com for the Visiontek GF3 Ti200 rebate from Thanksgiving Best Buy sale!! I called and they've pushed the date back again...now it is May 31st! This is ridiculous how long it is taking. I even started to get a little irate on the phone but they kept giving me the "we can't expedite this" party line. Looks like I will be eating this money. If this kind of stuff keeps happening it will be the end of rebates for me. I'm waiting on a Seagate/Fry's rebate too. Maybe that one will turn out better :-(

A couple suggestions/questions/comments concerning rebates:
1. I've always felt that, especially if the rebate is ADVERTISED by a store, that it is an inducement to purchase, and the store can be held to fulfill the rebate if the mfg. doesn't come thru. I believe this is evidenced by the fact that stores like CompScrewUSA and Worst Buy "hold back" several millions of $$$'s from mfg. that they know don't come thru with rebates. Also, if you hold their feet to the fire, they will eventually cut you a corporate check.
2. Next time I purchase an item with a fairly large rebate, I believe I will put the charge in dispute with my credit card company. Of course, I would wait until the last few days to do this so I can see if the rebate comes. Usually, the time period to dispute is 60 days from the date of the statement that the charge appears on. I have done something similar in the past when I was negotiating with a vendor. I filed the dispute so my rights would be preserved, and explained in the letter to the cc company that I was attempting to work it out with the vendor. My cc was cool with this, and I just let them know if I was able to work it out or not. In fact, I think they prefer that I try to work it out first.....maybe even require it.

Does anyone remember the ValuePack 200cd deal at OfficeMax about two months ago? ($49.99 - $35 rebate)...anyone get the rebate? I got denied for some reason (didn't state why, though I have copies of everything I submitted). I called the number on the rebate form today @ 12pm EST and got an answering machine which I thought was pretty damn odd...

hi.. newbie here.. here's my problem. i received my staples/xp rebate check a long time ago, but had lost it a long time as well.. it was only until this week that i found it. the check was issued on 1/17 and expires after 60 days.. my question: how can i cash this? can i call/e-mail staples and tell them i lost it and they can reissue? can i just cash it a bank hoping it'll go thru? thx for any help!

I got it Friday. I sent it in early-mid December
I got a problem with Officedepot $30 rebate for pacific digital 24X10X40 CD-RW back on Jan. On TCA web site, it only shows $20 rebate. After I dscuss it with Officedepot CSR, they issue me a $30 Gift Cert since TCA doesn't fulfill it. I think everyone could do it, if you have the same problem.

They will issue u.
Since I was tired to argue with some j**k in TCA anymore, have to deal it with the store.

We are now at month 7 of my WinXPerience $200 Staples/Parago rebate headache. Here is my timeline:
Early November: Mail Rebate
Mid January: Call Staples rebate hotline. I am told they never received my e-mail and I should fax in all forms again and call back in 2 weeks.
Early February: Call in to check on the status of rebate resubmission and I am told they never got the fax. A "Special Record" is opened up and I am told to call to call back in 2 weeks.
Late February: I am told that the "Special Record" is yet to be approved. Rep says that they had to start over and it will take 8 weeks. I am told to call back in 8 weeks.
Early May: A rep tells me they are waiting on a copy of my UPC symbols. He tells me don't even think of faxing it because most faxes get mixed up and lost. He tell's me to mail a copy to his attention and also e-mail a copy to his attention. I put it in the mail last week and e-mailed a scanned copy last week. I have since received 3 e-mail replies (none from him even though all e-mail said "attention to:". One reply told me to resubmit everything and wait another 8 weeks, another said the rebate was closed and I am out of luck, another wanted a bunch of information (address, phone) that was already in the body of the message.
Obviously I'm getting the run around. Each time I call the reps try to get me off the phone with a line like "call back in 2 weeks".
I've decided to submit a complaint to the FTC. Do I list Staples as the company or the rebate company, Perago? Has anyone had any luck calling the Staples Office of the President? Do I have any other options to get this thing moved along?

I got my $75 BB rebate for the WD 80 gig PM deal that everyone was doing back in march.
Did any get their compusa compaq monitor deal rebate process yet? It has been 2 weeks and they still say they have not recieved it.
