In my *personal* experience: Parago and Sony worst at the moment, Epson and TCA New Rochelle pretty good, Best Buy BEST (for BB rebates, not manufacturer rebates). I have had good experiences with TCA, Digital Research & Cendyne, though I know that others have not. I keep on top of all rebates starting on their due date.

[Regarding Sony, I did the "Pick Up Sticks" Promo $50.00 rebate...it's supposed to be 8-10 weeks to receive it. I called the 8th week, nothing on file. Called 9th week, and was given some BS about there being a mistake in the form and that they require 4-6 MORE weeks after it's entered, for processing; total perhaps 16 weeks].

I am also batting 1000 with rebates; actually a little higher due to 2 rebates that Staples sent me extra checks for :Q I've done many rebates in the $100.00-$200.00 range and have *never* sent anything certified; just keep meticulous records and copies of everything that goes out the door.

My $15 rebate for the Staples "Hi-Tech" Cd-Rs finally showed up today. Thanks go out to "Technogeek" who sent out the alert about the rebate problems. It did take three phone calls to the Staples Rebate Center before I got someone who knew how to handle it. She said the check would arrive in 4 to 6 weeks and it did.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. If not, fine,direct me to the right thread(s) if any and I'll repost. This is my first time posting here in Hot Deals.

Back in mid Janurary this year OfficeMax had a flyer with a banner that stated if you bought a model HP1115 Photosmart printer & any digital camera of 300.00 dollars or more they (HP) would rebate 50.00 dollars. The deal was sweeter at 75.00 if you bought an HP digital camera.

However....

This was a misprint and they meant model HP1215 Photsmart printer. I called the HP rebate center after being turned down because in a letter they sent me my items were "unqualifed"

So if this applies to you, you may want to contact OfficeMax about this. I did and they gave me a 50.00 dollar rebate in cash.

This could help you get a rebate if you followed the misprint in this ad as I did.

 
Getting screwed byTelex for M-40 Desktop Mike $7.99 rebate dept. 30909 (valid 11/14/01-12/1/01). Should have taken 6-8 wks. They have no record of my forms, and don't have that dept# listed anymore (wheresmyrebate). CSR said it wouldn't make any difference if I re-mailed in my copies. I mailed two other rebates at the same time, and received both recently, so I doubt it was a mail screwup. I should have kept up on that one better.

The pain is I only ordered the mike to get Officemax order over $100 to use a coupon on Cendyne 16X w/ $20 rebate. Oh well, add another $8 on the burner's cost! I wonder if I can get an OM manager to refund me?
 
Don't understand this, but I received an email and a post card from rebatehq stating that my $30 rebate for a Siemens Gigaset was being denied for the incorrect UPC. The reason why I don't understand this is because I never sent in for any Siemens rebate! I have no idea what a Siemens Gigaset is! The problem is that I've sent several rebates to rebatehq and I don't know which one they've screwed up on in saying that my supposed Siemens rebate has been denied. ARGH!!! .😕 Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
 
I also finally got my Hi Tech brand 50 pack of cd-r $15 MIR from staples today. I had to call them to put me in the system a few weeks ago.

Just received my $70.00 Envision monitor rebate today. Mailed in on 2/18/02 and received 3/18/02. WOW!!!
It's about time that one of my rebates came through promptly. This is the fastest ever for me. Have three more with Staples
that I wrote to Office of the President about. Got a call back and I will have them this week.

LCD Monitor cost $234.89 - $70.00 .... Net of $164.89 including tax for a 15" LCD..... GREAT.



 
Received $80 from Staples for Visioneer scanner (paid $74.19 + $0.34 stamp after PM!). Sent 2/16, printed 3/12, received 3/18. Good service there!

(this is where some thought PM or coupon may invalidate rebate)
 
I recieved my $14 MIR on COMPUSA brand 80min 50 pack of disks that were on sale for $14 on 12/31. Rebate was mailed to New Rocelle NY

Denied $50 CrapUSA rebate for All-In-Wonder Radeon deal from January. Rebate center claims only the PCI AIW was covered even though circular and store displays clearly indicated that the AGP AIW was eligible for the rebate too. But they goofed -- I still have time to dispute the charge with my bank. 😀

I keep calling and they constantly tell me "the system's down, call tomorrow" . ! What kind of monkey business is this?? The system is down yet the website is up!? (www.wheresmyrebate.com) Recently a different rebate was shown to have been mailed, but now the system is down whenever I call about the $50 rebate?

I sent the rebate on Nov. 23! It's been -16- weeks since they've had it. WTF. Is this stupid business going under or what?

Same problem here. I've sent in two rebates, didn't get a single one yet. It was supposed to be mailed at the end of February. Gotta call them, but can I get through? :|
 
Here's a quick update on the $25 Fry's Electronics rebate for the "free" USB camera. Today it's listed as being mailed on 3/15/02 so we'll see if it actually shows up. It's interesting that the status changed a couple of days after I called to see what's going on.

On my more paranoid days, I suspect that these rebate fulfillment houses keep stacks of rebates in a pile labeled "Only process if they call" 🙂

Back on 10/28/01 I bought one of those "free after rebate" digital cameras that Fry's is always advertising. Wheresmyrebate.com shows my $25 rebate submission as "approved" with an estimated check mailing date of 1/25/02.

Since we're well into March I called this morning to ask if they had mailed the check. The CSR told me that there's been a processing problem (apparently for everyone) and that my check had not been mailed yet and the "estimated check mail date" is inaccurate.

You're probably not that far off the mark...I think the old phrase "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" is very applicable to rebate fulfillment. Those that don't call will usually be last, while those that keep on top of their rebates, in many cases get their rebate checks back weeks or even months faster. If you go back through this thread, you will find that to be true, especially with the New Rochelle rebates.

I think there is something to the "squeaky wheel" theory. I'm not convinced that I would ever has seen the $15 rebate for the Staples "HI-Tech" CD-Rs or the $40 rebate for the Office Depot 20 meg Maxtor deal if I hadn't called the rebate centers. And I have to thank the folks on this forum for helping me out with both of those.

So far, I've received 39 of the 49 rebates that I've submitted over the last six months or so. And the remaining 10, all submitted fairly recently are looking good.

Like many here, I keep copies of everything.

Also, MSN has not sent me the reward money for the MSN Passport promotion during last X'mas. I emailed them several times but they never got back to me. I m pissed now. Anyone has suggestion what I should do? Please don't tell me eat the loss. Thanks again.

I received my GF3 $50 back in Februry, and I remember reading post that several others received theirs as well.

New Rochelle is the worst of all lthe rebate processing companies. It surprises me how many people still jump on rebate deals involving the New Rochelle processing center after all the horror stories that have been posted about them. Anyway, New Rochelle will do anything to avoid paying. They also claimed that their systems were down most of the laast week of February, bu the website seemd to work OK.

If you have a name that is often mis-spelled, you can use the link below to query all the rebates in process at New Rochelle in your postal code. Replace the ***** with your postal code. I don't remember who originally posted the link below, but credit goes to whoever did. 🙂

Grrrrr! Just got off the phone regarding the Best Buy/D-Link Router deal back in Nov. Had not recieved the 2nd rebate of $30. The rebate center said I had already claimed the $5 rebate on that offer (NIC card) and so they would not send me the $30. (This was the deal where, I believe, Best Buy screwed up the offer #'s on the rebate forms). I got insistant so she transferred me to Best Buy's customer service. The CS was aware of the problem and said she could send me a $20 Gift Certificate but could not send a check. I asked if I went into the store if I could get a check and was told no. I am not too happy about it but I'm tired of screwing around with them so I told her to go ahead and send the GC.
