Finally got my CompuCrap Cendyne 50$ MIR. This was for the 16X10X40 drive (rebadged TEAC). It has been 10 mnths and tons to emails, telephone calls to both Cendyne Corporation and CompUSA Corporate HQ in Dallas.

Finally got through to a CSR at about 10:00AM EST today. It's best to call in the morning. Told him my rebate had been delayed, he looked up my info, and said the check would be mailed out today. I am skeptical and I won't be satisfied until I see a check in my hand. Even still I am going to file a complaint with the FCC. 3 1/2 months for a rebate that should have took 8-10 weeks is ridiculous. They were probably stalling on purpose to rake in the interest on everyone's $50.

Back on 10/28/01 I bought one of those "free after rebate" digital cameras that Fry's is always advertising. Wheresmyrebate.com shows my $25 rebate submission as "approved" with an estimated check mailing date of 1/25/02.
Since we're well into March I called this morning to ask if they had mailed the check. The CSR told me that there's been a processing problem (apparently for everyone) and that my check had not been mailed yet and the "estimated check mail date" is inaccurate.

Coolness i just got my Hi-tech cd-r rebate for $15 and pny 256mb from OD for $15 validated.
I spoke to two nice CSRs and got them both aproved in less than 5 minutes. If any one still hasnt gotten there rebates just call them up takes no time at all.

I had a total of 6 IOMagic / Digital Research rebates outstanding from last year.
I called Best Buy last Friday 3/8 to check on a Digital Research rebate. The Best Buy CSR connected us both to the CSR from DR and I gave her all the promo numbers from the rebates. She gave me a reference number and said if I didn't receive anything by 3/25 to call back with my reference number.
Today in the mail I received 1 envelope with all 6 checks. All 6 checks have the date of 3/8.
I wonder how many people never call and never receive their rebate checks. :disgust:

received the $20 K-Byte 256meg pc133mhz sdram rebate check today. This was from the black friday sale at Best Buy. The check is dated Feb 25 (today is March 14) and it says it is void after April 26.
Finally, finally received the $58.00 Dymo label maker rebate from Staples Black Friday sale.
Mailed: 11/26/01.
Due: 1/26/02.
Actually received: 3/15/02.
Total time: about 15 weeks.
9 phone calls.
4 supervisors.
2 escalations.
Lotsa aggravation.
Parago sucks right now, almost as bad as Philips
Parago still owes me the Pacific Digital $50.00 (Staples) from 11/28.
Parago still owes me the CompUSA memory rebate for $20.00 from 11/19/01...they insist they printed the check over a month ago, and gave me a check number long ago, but the reps and the supervisors also keep telling me they DID NOT actually mail the check...has anyone else been given this ridiculous BS from Parago? I got a $14 MIR today from a 50-disc spindle of Imation CD-Rs from OM. The check has Imation's name on it and it took just one month to get it.
i doubt many people got in on this, but just got my $50 JVC DS-TP350 Home Theater In A Box rebate.

Still did not get mine yet but it will be arriving shortly. Here's what I did.
Wrote to the "Office of the President" of Staples about three rebates .... the above included. Two others were from December.
Got a voice mail (and return tel number) from Staples yesterday that all three rebates were being mailed out yesterday. Gave some BS about the mailing address being slightly off .... load of BS because I just checked my copies and they are all perfect.
Learned my lesson though. From now on after six weeks I will always write to the "Office of the President" of Staples.
Something like 500 Staples Drive, ????.
