«..but how does everyone save electronic copies of their rebate forms, emails, ect? »

I scan all the documentation for each submission and save the files in a dedicated "Rebate Docs" folder on the system. I use Rebate! Rebate! to track all submissions and always store the name of the file in the comments field on the rebate tab. If I have to write a followup letter, I store the document name there too. It would be nice if it could be hyperlinked but the program is not being updated so I make do.

One thing I've found helpful, is to scan both sides of any coupons so that I have a copy of the original terms. I also keep all the packaging until I get the check so that I can take everything back if something doesn't come through. I just had to do that with a CF adapter for my Visor that I bought in August. The rebate still hasn't come so I took it back to CompUSA on Sunday.

If you don't like Rebate!Rebate!, you can check out Rebate Tracker too.

I came across a free program today, and if it does what it says, it would be very valuable to all of us following this thread. The program is Surfsaver
It claims to store Web pages directly from your browser into searchable folders. You can organize and search the information, export, save, and even email the pages. That would be great for people asking for electronic rebate forms or coupons.
I installed it today and will give it a try.

I got a card in the mail from staples saying that i did not purchase my dazzle digital video creator 50 in the designated times, when i did, and the 40 dollar rebate was on teh site as well. I have been duped =( i am on the phone wit hthe CSR now....anyone have the same problem? i bought mine over the web

Yellowbone: Staples is very good about fixing their errors...you shouldn't have a problem if you provide them with the supporting documentation that shows you purchased the item in the correct time frame.

My Dazzle rebate is approved but overdue now (it has been 8 1/2 weeks) - I was told 'within 30 days,' last week.

$25 rebate for Personal Page Builder 4 purchased from Staples.
sent 8/24 to Vancouver, BC, Canada
Received ~ 12/26
A lot of mail got held up because it had to be disinfected.
on the check:

VOID AFTER 1/7/02
Just in time.

Update:
Apparently I was rejected for my rebate submission for the AVB Mouse from amazon.com because I used an amazon promotional gift certificate for $15 off a $100 purchase. Is this fair? I did not know this was a breach in the conditions of the rebate at all and did not know that this would be a problem because the promotion was from amazon, rather than the manufacturer who is giving out the rebate. Here is the reply I got:

Happy holidays!! Thank you for participating in AVB-Amazon Vmouse Rebate Program. We truly appreciate your patience and cooperation, and apologize for the tremendous delay in delivering the rebate check to you. Now we have already processed all rebate claims, and are here to inform you with the result of your rebate status. Unfortunately, we are sorry that you are not qualified to get the rebate check due to the following reason:
As stated in our rebate form, This offer cannot be combined with other offer. Therefore, it is not qualified to pay partial or full of your VMouse by promotional certificate.
Thank you for your understanding, and we are looking forward to your future support of AVB products.

Is there anything I can do?
:|

Hankysmoo,

that is BS, becuase that is a AMZN discount, not the manufacturer.
they just want to keep your money. they try to do anything to keep your hard earn $$$$
i would call & complain. i would also let AMZN know too.

Speaking oif Staples . . . today I got my free-after-MIR and coupon Black Friday $40 rebate on the Epson 480SXU.

Did anyone have problems with the best buy rebates for the xp stuff? I sent my rebates in about 2 months ago and still nothing. 🙁

finally got my CompUSA rebate for a 50-pack of cdr's from early september.
15 bucks from TCA in NewRo , NY

My brother purchased the Visiontek GeForce 3 Card on Black Friday at Best Buy. I just checked the status of his rebate and it says denied due to a lack of UPC code. He acknowledged the fact he forgot to include it but still has it and can send it in if it will do him any good. Is there any way he can still get the rebate or as he shot himself in the foot?

Eaglescout

BTW - My rebate status is approved, expecting the check around Mid-February.

He can sill send in the UPC for the rebate. Just be sure to include the reference number from the rebate tracking web page or call a CSR at the rebate center and get the refeerence number. Without the reference number the rebate processing company will no know which rebate to apply the UPC code. You can also wait for the rebate processing company to send you a post card with the rejection reason and resubmit the rebate with that post card, but it often takes a couple of months to receive these.

Question for anybody who's had experience with www.expressgroup.com, OD clearinghouse They have 4 of my rebates, but their website only shows 1 of them and they claim (diff. reps) that they are awaiting instructions from manufacturers. Instructions from 3 diff. manufacturers? Come on! Of course, when I try to challenge credibility of this ridiculous statement they would promptly hang up on me. The rebates due are:

Maxtor 30gig HD
Maxtor 20gig HD (the only showing at their site)
KDS monitor
Vantas 3000 scanner.

All sent in October. Any idea?

<< CC rebates take almost 12 weeks. (That's my experiece).

However they always pay them. Never got stuck once yet. Since July of 2001 I have had about 20
rebate transactions with them.

APC BE350C UPS $40x2 = $80
Bought at CircuitCity 23 Nov 2001, mailed 24 Nov, form said to allow 10 wks.
Called CC Rebate Ctr 888-213-9761 on 2 Jan 2002. CSR said it was received, approved and the check will mail within 2 wks.

Let's see if they can set a new speed record.

alphansx: thx for your reply, I sent an email off to Amazon and I will see what they say. This will be my third rebate fight unfortunately 🙁 (I never saw my rebate from the free 64mb ram at compusa last year)

I finally got my $60.00 rebate from Envision EN70 from CoMPUSA. That was sent in on 9/9! These companies that take 3 or 4 months to send a rebate have lost my business. Do you hear me Circuit City, COMPUSA and Philips? :|
Staples and BB seem to be the only stores that send rebates out quickly.

Called Bestbuy rebate center today about my $5 D-link rebate from November. CSR confiremed that it was denied and that they were sending me a denial letter. I explained the problem to her like Engineer about the same rebate # as the D-link router also on sale with $20 BB rebate. She agreed that there was a problem with the way this rebate was setup but she could not resolve it. She had to escalate my case to another group to investigate. I have to call them back next week to see what their verdict will be. If they uphold the denial I will go back to the B&M BB and get them to resolve it.
