I noticed that BestBuy rebates mailed to Calais, ME have invalid postal addresses. The Memorex keyboard does and I checked another 5 random rebates from BB and they all had a PO box # that is totally different than the zip+4. Example: PO box 8700, ZIP 04619-8836. USPS says the addresses are invalid. I have to assume the post office somehow gets them (most?) there but what is the undoubtedly sneaky reason for requiring invalid addresses? The Coppell TX rebates from Staples used to have invalid base zip codes which isn't noticable by looking at them but those would get through okay and now they have stopped doing that. What do you think?

I just got a $30 rebate from CircuitCity, and the name of the rebate is "$20-$40 Rebate" .. I couldn't find this rebate on the circuitcityrebates.com page. Anyone know what it's for? I have a whole bunch of rebates i'm entering into Rebate!Rebate! right now, some that are more than two months old (I got busy at the end of last semester, and right after my last final i went on vacation till just a few days ago, so i'm completely disorganized at the moment).

Thanks in advance.

Which one should I send? Only one rebate should be submitted.

I suggest you use the one from the wall. I've had all kinds of problems from a register-printed rebate form (there was a pre-preprinted form, too) for the Columbia FRS radios. Bought it in August and am still waiting despite mucho calling and griping to the fulfillment house and the store manager.

A friend who used the pre-printed form and bought at the same time has already received his check.

i got my bfg ti4200 128mb 55 dollar mail in rebate today from bestbuy. I'm glad i got it so early and was a little worried since i used the 10% off coupon along with it. This 55 will go right back into more computer parts so its not like i made any money.

I just called the rebate center from the Logitech rebate and they claim they never recieved my information. The Netgear rebate has been showing approved since the end of november on wheresmyrebate.com, but I still have yet to recieve anything.

My Netgear rebate has been in a similar status. I imagine they're going for the maximum 12 week processing time. I'll have to follow up with Logitech. There's a fighting chance they won't want to pay a rebate on it, though. I don't know about you, but my Amazon invoice showed $59.95 for the router and $0.00 for the Logitech 310.

Joe

P.S.

No one has a copy of that Best Buy rebate form (see above)????????????????

I'm in the same boat w/ the netgear stuff. I got a MR814 router purchased from Amazon first week of November and a 311 wireless NIC purchased from circuitcity first week of December. where'smyfrickenrebate shows the damn checks won't be mailed until MARCH 3?!?! Man thats 16 weeks!! doesn't this become illegal at some point?

Every year I buy tax software packages in part to get a new version of anti-virus software for free after rebate. This year Syamntec offers rebates on AntiVirus and Personal Firewall if you buy tax software. Some stores and ads clearly state that you can get rebates on only one of these Symantec products, but not both. Other store ads don't directly say this. I picked up the 2 rebate forms at OfficeMax (one for each Symantec product) and there is nothing I can see that specifically precludes getting both rebates. The only constraint is the "Limit one rebate per name, etc." language common to virtually all such forms. There is more than one version of the rebate form out there. For example, the online OfficeMax form is different than the ones I picked up and it clearly precludes rebates on both packages. I am leary as Symantec is not especially generous. Any thoughts? Thanks.

This was the rebate for the Modem, Memory or the "stackable rebaate" for the WD 120 gig hard drive. ($20, $30 or $40 back depending on item) I only bought the 120 gig hard drive and got a check with Western Digital name/logo on it for $70, PLUS got a "$20 to $40" check for $40 with CC's logo on it.

If you did the 80 gig SE drive ($40 rebate), then you should also get a WD check for $40.

has anyone made up a spreadsheet or some kind of a form to keep track of your rebates? I mean, when you sent them, when you recieved them etc... I have about a dozen outstanding rebates and I am too disorganized to know when I mailed each one and what I've recieved and what I'm waiting on. I'm thinking a spreadsheet would be great for quickly entering info regarding your rebates. Please let me know how you keep track of your rebates.

OK, I need some help with a rebate.

I bought a 56K PCI modem from Frys Electronics in January of 2001 that was "free" after a $25 rebate.

The rebate was approved, according to the wheresmyrebate.com website but the check was never mailed. (The "Estimated Check Mail Date was displayed as 5/7/02 for many months.)

Now wheresmyrebate says that they are no longer handling this "DSD" rebate and they gave me a phone number and a website to contact.

The phone number they gave me, (214) 488-3100, produced a "this number has changed" message. The new number (817) 329-7012 was no longer in service.

The website they provided, www.directwebsource.com, was "not found".

I called wheresmyrebate again and they said there was nothing else they could do. The message was basically "Sorry, but it's not our problem."

I thought about going directly to Fry's but I imagine that I'll get the same "it's not our problem" response. And the thought of potentially wasting my time standing in one of Fry's massive customer service lines is not very appealing.

Any suggestions as to what to try next?

Bob

(I've submitted dozens of rebates over the last couple of years totaling well over $1000 and this is the *only* rebate that has not come through.)

After a long and arduous fight, I have finally received payment on my Inetcam rebate for $40. I filed last March and they dragged their feet for months. Then the check apparently got lost in the mail. I called them many times after they changed their rebate numbers constantly. I was eventually calling their main company number to try and speak to someone and got only more lies. After about 4 months of this nonsense and no return calls, I filed with FTC and BBB. BBB got back to me and Inetcam said they would send me another check. Of course in their letter stating they would send another check, they listed my address wrong showing their incompetence once again. I finally received the check a month later (today).

Summary: THANK YOU BBB!

Bob, checkout this rebate thread at FW. A manager from TCA started the thread. He may be able to help you. The thread has some interesting information.

I received denial card from Peripherals Group Inc. (PGI) (866-225-9286, Coppel TX) stating that the UPC barcode is not eliible for the promotion. Of course, this is because of the Pacific Digital sub. I called the OMax magr and he said that the rebates will indeed be paid ($45 in this case). Will wait another 2 weeks then start calling again.

One thing about OMax rebates, they are hard to get but if you have problems, store mgmt is usually happy to assist.

OM mgrs are POS. i went to store to try to get Om mgr to help on a rebate problem, but the by*&#^%tkh rude mgr did not care, so every opportunity i get to SCREW or RIP OM off, i will be there. i charge everything on my AMEX card too even a couple of cents so OM lose $$. ($0.17)

Lanyap,

Thanks for all the help. But I'm not sure if wheresmyrebate/TCA can be much help at this point. The phone rep that I talked to said that they were just a third party processor of the rebates and that there's nothing they can do once the manufacturer swaps rebates houses. :(

Of course, I can't even contact the new rebate house.

Here's more info on the modem itself, in case that helps:

Encore Internal Fax Modem, Model CTR-21, Fry's Stock Number: 3189360
(There's zero contact information on or in the box.)

My rebates for purchases in Nov 2002
Cendyne CD-RW, Office Max: Received $30 in 6 weeks.
Belkin, CD cases and ?,Office Max: Received and valid on 11-28-2002 and suppose to be mailed within
30 days but still showing this on rebateshq as of 1-28-02
BestData, modem, Office Max: Not listed on website or rebateshq yet.

Does anyone know if Best Data takes this long to even post the claim? They say 12 weeks to process so I imagine they get the letter and put it in a 3 month barrel and then start to process it?

edit: Previous rebate from Pony memory 128 PC133 from CompUSA came quickly in about 6 weeks also.

I ordered at best buy.com for instore pick-up, when I went to pick them up I asked how to get the rebates for these three items. the girl says "I can print them up here for you" . so when I go to fill out the rebates I notice the SKU#'s are different, I then call BB rebate# on rebate form printed for me to question if that will be a problem. I explain I have a BB.com receipt with one # and the rebate form the store said they could print up for me with another SKU# . I asked if that would be denied cause the 2 have different SKU's on them, they said no that both are valid SKU#'s and will both pull up the same product when the rebate is submitted, not a problem. Still curious I call BB.com to verify that it is the right product, explain it same as I did before and was told the same thing. Now come to find out I was to submit the online form of the rebate and not the instore one they printed for me.
I can not believe that 3 times no one told me when I asked that this would invalidate the rebate. but NOW they are very adamant that it will be invalid and if you can find the online rebate forms you can resubmit it. of course after looking at the dates purchased 11/29 they are well aware the rebate form is not online any more. and when I told the rebate center I had called before I sent them to verify if it would be a problem the acted like no one form here would have told you that, they know better.

is there anyone that has successfully received their rebate after an issue like this?

If anyone has a copy of these Bestbuy.com online rebate forms I would oh so appreciate it if you could email me a copy. at email listed here or at agnitoood@yahoo.com
for
JASC paintshop pro 7 Ann 30$
Roxio Easy CD creator 5 plat 30$
MS internet keyboard 14$

thanks
