I ordered this amazing deal last Thanksgiving, I am sure most of you remember the card. It was two rebates, one from Best Buy and one from BFG Technologies.
I got my Best Buy rebate a while ago, but did not get the second.
Did anyone actually get both of theirs? Did I get screwed somehow?

Who would I call for that?

I bought a 100 pack of Hi Val CD-R's from OM back in July '02. The $30 MIR never came.

I checked the fullfillment house's website and they showed that my submission was rec'd back in Aug. '02 but no check was ever sent and no reason was ever given.

I sent the fullfillment house a email threatening a "rebate fraud" case to be filled with ftc.gov unless a rebate check was quickly issued. Guess what, a check was just issued.

I haven't had too many rebate problems but Hi Val has been terrible (8 months!!!). If anyone has a similar issue I suggest that you threaten to file a complaint to FTC. That seems to motivate these b*stards.
 
I've been waiting a long time for a rebate from Staples. It says I will receive the check in 30 days, but it's been nearly 2 months. I contacted rebateshq about 30 days ago and they said there was a delay (obviously) and that I will receive the rebate shortly. Well, obviously I haven't received anything.

Is there anything I can do/say to get their butts in gear? I mean, they have already violated the terms of the rebate (they are well outside the 6-8 week time frame).

You should have a contact number for the BFG rebate on the rebate form. You did keep a copy, right?

Anybody got the old aging rebate form for the 24x10x40 I/O MagicWriter that was sold at Circuit City last year, around November? If so, send me a message please.
 
Today I just received both ($20 + $25) rebate checks for a CenDyne 16X DVD ROM bought on "Black Friday". I had given up on this. It just showed up, "out of the blue", with no explaination as to why it took so long. The checks are dated 02/18/03.
 
Would that all rebates could follow this model:

Speedstream Wireless router purchased at Office Depot 1/17. Mailed rebate 1/24. Received email 2/22 saying processing going on should receive rebate in 3 weeks. Received email 2/27 saying everything processed rebate should arrive in 10 days. Includes a link to site where you can check status and it shows check number and issue date.

This is being handled by someplace called Efficient Networks Rebate Center. Maybe the other rebate centers will pay attention and follow suit but I'm not going to count on it.
 
I would strongly advise AGAINST buying any Polaroid drives and expecting to see your rebate (at least, any time soon). Here's an email I received back from the rebate processor for Polaroid (www.easierrebate.com):

I've generally found that if you do not call Hi-Val / I/O Magic, you're not going to see your rebate.

Drum rolls, please...after only three emails, four months and two submissions of required proof of purchase, a check for $20 from I/O Magic/HiVal arrived today. Would I buy another one of their product if it involves rebate to make it a good deal? Probably not...
 
Still waiting for my after-Thanksgiving day/Black Friday Cendyne DVDROM rebates.

The website says one of my rebates has been accepted. There is no record of the second rebate. I will call today or Monday if I can find a phone number.
 
Anyone have the Linksys $10 rebate for the BEFW11S4 router from mid January? I forgot about it and I need to send it in asap. Of course they don't have it listed anymore...

Submitted my $30 upgrader rebate for Peachtree Accounting
and got my email notification that it had been processed.

Looked it up this morning and it was approved.
But tonight it was rejected:

Does anyone remember a Seagate barracuda IV 80gb drive deal from Fry's (maybe outpost.com too) with $50 rebate? There were 3 such $50 rebate deals to my knowledge, one on Black Friday ('02) one on Christmas holiday season ('02) and one just recently in January I believe ('03). Anyway, I got in on the Christmas one and the one recently, and I'm pretty sure both rebates looked the same so I assume they went to the same place. I haven't sent the latest one out yet, but I checked their website (rebatestatus.com) to see if they have record of my earlier rebate (the one from Christmas time). It wasn't on the site, so I used their customer service form and I haven't heard a reply for weeks, let alone their specified "2-3 business days". I was wondering if any of you have a copy of the rebate form that was from the Christmas-time $50 Seagate HD rebate, and if so, whether you could provide me with a phone number to call, website to look at, or email address to contact.

This is about the $50 + $30 rebates on Western Digital 120G SE drives at Outpost.com back at the beginning of December.

Outpost instructed me to mail both forms and the UPC to the address of the $50 rebate. I just got the check yesterday. However, Young America had nothing on my $30 rebate, and said that I shouldn't have been eligible for both. Even though Outpost advertised the price after both rebates..

Called up Outpost, talked to a CSR, and they will be crediting me $30 tomorrow. If anyone else is having this problem, try calling Outpost before you you resubmit your paperwork -- it will be faster, and has a much higher chance of resolving the issue.
 
Just an update. The actual check finally arrived and it looks like it came from the manufacturer vs. the fullfillment house. It's amazing what threat of "rebate fraud" did to get some action from these idiots.

I just sent a scathing email to OM asking why they are promoting products from this corrupt manufacture.

Anybody gotten back a Fuji CD-R rebate yet? I mailed mine in on 6 January (IIRC) after printing a form on www.myrewards.info. To date, it still shows that they haven't received my rebate form. For some reason, the 866 number they have listed always rings busy for me.
