Compaq 900 BTO Laptop - part of the feeding frenzy when Staples had that $300 off built to order computers. $300 off coupon, $100 Staples MIR, $100 Compaq MIR (or HP depending on which brand you purchased).

Got the Staples one last week.

This week got the Compaq one.

Mailed out 10/17.
Received 11/25.

5 weeks. Compaq is good and fast and they don't send it as a postcard. Will definately do Compaq rebates in the future, errr, I guess HP now since they got taken over.
 
All I can say is this: of the 9 rebates I've ever sent in, I've gotten 2 cheques. The last time I sent in a rebate was 8 months ago.

I am now at the point where I don't even CONSIDER the rebate price. If it's $299 including the $50 mail-in rebate, I price compare it to items as $349. Most of the rebates in question were on products from Future Shop here in Cnada (now owned by Best Buy), although most of them were original manufacturer rebates and not Future Shop ones. I just send it in and never hear anything again--not even refusals!

Well, you gotta keep copies of everything you submit and if you don't get your rebate, CALL. Otherwise, if you are content to sit on your butt and not get on the horn, they are even more content to not hear from you and not send you your rebate!

REbate.....that RE part means you gotte RE call them and RE pursue the matter or else you'll never get a RE action from some fulfillment centers in the form of a check. 🙂

P.S. As for boycotting such stores. Uhm...we'd have to boycott every store? Except for the corner hot dog dude, he offers a free napkin with every purchase and it's an instant napkin, not mail in.
 
man!!!!!!!! i wanna complain about those Amazon rebates... this is for the motorola surfboard $30 rebate.... even after talkin to one of the CSR's from rebatestatus.com, the status on my rebate still says "processing." i already waited for about 8 weeks... looks like i will be waiting ANOTHER 8-10 weeks... ridiculous...
 
Cpaladin: i always make TWO copies of all the rebates i submit, plus call (hound) them when it is due time.. cant trust these rebate companies to fulfill their end of the bargain.. but all in all, i have to admit.. i've always gotten every single one of my rebates...

Received $20 for Mad Dog Multimedia's Predator 6-channel sound card; CompUSA, 7/5/02. This one took forever but at least the web site had confirmation that the rebate form was received. Nonetheless, no more Mad Dog products for me !

Staples is awesome for rebates. Sent in rebate for phonemate phone for $20 on 11/20 and got the approval email on 11/26. The are good at getting the checks out in 30 days. 🙂

Now CompUSSR is terrible with rebates. Can take alot of fighting to get some of them. 🙁
 
question for anyone who purchased the Cendyne dvd drive at officemax during todays black friday sale. even though it clearly lists 2 MIR's, a $20 and a $25, only the $25 is listed on their website, and when i tried asking an employee, she knew nothing, any ideas?

Look for the rebate for assorted cendyne drives. The $20 rebate is on that form.

Anyone have the rebates for the EPO 16x DVD drive at CompUSA on their computer? The links on the website don't work (at least for not for me). If you have the .pdf or can get the links on the website to work please reply or PM me. The CompUSA links are here.

They are using javascript to pop-up the PDF. Try these links. Do a "Save Target As..." to download PDF to your hard drive.

Any one here have trouble getting full rebate and using a, let's say, $20 off $ 100, coupon too, for example with a Staples item ?

I bght Maxtor usb 2.0 card for $ 39.98 (has $ 40 rebate) and Roxio Easy CD 5 Platimum (had it PM to BestBuy) for $ 69.94 (has $ 50 rebate)& 2 other small items; at first I used $ 20. off $ 100. coupon, but after reading wording on rebates printed at register, both of which said something like "can't be used with any other offer, promotion, etc."; I decided it wasn't worth the chance of using the $ 20. off and losing the $ 90. in rebates especially when the sale was only for 11/29 & 11/30. Staples' Manager somewhat agreed with me, but then he isn't the only who'll process it. Someone else who will just love to deny it, will.

Maybe I should have bght something more to raise the other items to $20 to use the $ 20 off $ 100 against.

Any one else have this problem in the past ? were your rebates sent in full when using $$ off $$ ?

Maybe bec it was a "coupon" I was wrong ? :Q

Thanks. I tried this earlier today and it didn't work, but oh well. CompUSA's server really sucks .. not even getting 1 kb/sec with my DSL.
 
The Maxtor 80GB/8 MB Cache HDD from Fry's has only 1 UPC and two rebates both of them manufacturer's rebates requesting the original UPC, and in addition, the two rebates go to different departments. Anyone know how to resolve this or does the HDD box have an UPC hidden somewhere that I haven't found yet?
 
EDIT: This post is about the EPO 16x DVD drive at CompUSA.

Downloads finally finished .. about an hour later. Both rebates require original UPC but the drive was advertised for $20 ($48 - $20 MIR - $8 MIR). I'm thinking I will just send in a copy of the UPC for the $8 rebate and the advertisement showing that both rebates will work. 😕
 
I believe I read in a past thread about the best way to submit the Fuji 80 min cd-r rebates. Specifically, mine are the 100 pack from BB. I'm thinking it was submitting to a website? As I recall, people received them alot faster than the normal 120 days to never, by doing it this way. Anyone know?

I submitted mine through the myrewards.info site and haven't received anything, despite their "20 day" policy. Guess I will have to call :|

For the 120GB it says to "Mail in both completed coupon, original UPC code & clear copy of dated sales receipt to the address listed on the $50 MIR." Don't know if this applies to the 80GB but this is probably what I will do.
