Here are some information I got from compUSA I went this morning in San Diego, CA.
1 VideoCam sell for $29.99, on ads said -$30.00 rebate, but the real rebate form is only for $20.00. so its not real free. Who know how to figure this out? Also, this kinsington one is good or not? Becareful some of them are customer returned.
2 The memory rebate should valid for 2 per person. But the form said only for one. Here no problem because they sell only for one per customer.
3 The PC100 and PC133 memory is CompUSA brand, not PNY.
4 The TDK CDR sell for $4.99 here.
5 The free keyboard and mouse are too ugly to use, not worth to get it even for free.
6 Who knows if all the rebate can back later? Sound card's brand Hi-Val maybe have problem, right?
7 The $10 vtech phone is very simple and not as good as they sell in other place. But it looks nice, somebody maybe can get it as a gift.
That's all I got today. Some of them I am still not clear yet. If you know any more information, please post. BTW, office depot have better deal on cordless phone if you want better function and if they still have them.

Another point, as of 12pm in CA time, I left the store, only network card, keyboard and modam are out. Everything else are still in stock. They can only sell 30 memory per hour, but they still have at least 200 of them at stock. And handreds of CD R which they pay you $5 to you to get it.

About the ram. It's 2 sticks per address per rebate. Simply $60 bux back.
I saw tons of people walking out with at least 2 sticks on their hand and the rebate form here at Tukwila store. The CSRs i talked to confirmed this.

It's a funny scene at the store.
Every person I saw had their shopping cart full.
This dude has at least 10 of them memory sticks in his cart and bunch of free after MIR items.
The only items worth getting is 64mb ram

I think it depends on what you like and what you need. I got something for my friend because he just make a new computer. At least you buy a CD R disk, they give you $5 is a good deal.

hey bestfry...

the webcam had an orange sticker on the front of the box...thats the other $10

The store I was at would sell you 2 sticks of ram, but rebate is good for 1 of course...the ram I got was 7.5 CAS2!! runs great

I got the keyboard. It would break if ya sneeze on it.But its a good backup

Yes the sound card sux(Its terrible)...so does the web cam...I'm taking them back

you cant go wrong with the compressed air, tdk blanks and the ram..I got those and I will keep them

The modem doesnt support Win2K folks...It works fine though...got that freebie in the past

The surgemaster seems worthwhile

I alreay have surge master, but I got two for my friends. They had their computer on a too small and low desk. I did not get the compressed air rebate last time 2 year before, so I never buy this again.
The videocam is not as good as the one I use two year before, from creative.
And I do not need 2 per person on memory, because I only need one for each person.
Thank you for your information on Cam. But if my friend do not need them, I will take them back too.

Second that on the Surgemaster. Picked 'em up in the past, and are very useful. There was a TON of them in the back of the Kearny Mesa store in San Diego, as well as the TDK CDR's.

hello, about the webcam rebate...since both rebate requires the UPC, which one do I send the real UPC to and which one takes the copy? Both are from Kesington but there isn't a number to call to ask. Thanks for helping.

Damn it...

It says two per household on the ad. I know what the customer service center told you but they will tell you what you want to hear. The rebate says one and I bet that's all we will get. I bought these for two of my friends that need them but now I have to bring one back because I can't take a chance on paying $30 for 64 megs of CompUSA brand memory.

I was at the store in Omaha and at 10 past opening time and it was packed. I got just about one of everything. I got back to my truck and ran through the receipt and sure enough they screw it up. When I asked for two 64meg slices they snuck me one 128meg that rang up at $89.99. They charge me $34.96 for the modem, the ad said $29.99. They charged me $9.99 for the TDKs, the ad says $4.99. I had to go back in and wait in line again to get this straightened out.

I then drove to OfficeMax and got the 200 CDRs for free after rebate. That should have been my first and only stop.

CompUSA sucks! IMHO

Did you not watch the red numbers on the checkout register that say the price of the item as they scan it. Just a thought but might save you some time next time............

I'll just take the damn thing back if they don't honor both sticks.
I doubt they won't.
I didn't just talk to CSR at the store but also on the phone.
They said this is a national thing.

Rebate: "Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for rebate"

Receipt: "No refund or exchange after 14 days"

How are you going to "take the damn thing back if they don't honor both sticks" if it will take 6 to 8 weeks to figure out if they will honor it?

... and I know that I should have paid attention to the register screen but I'm not perfect. I was just stating that I figured CompUSA should have stuff priced right and other people that bought stuff today may want to run over there receipt.

Did you try to call them up and confirm?
They said yes, it's good for 2 sticks.

Remember the last Iomega deal. Some of us got credited $30 mir back instantly.
It's their words. And if they ever screw up, they will better honor this.

Thanks Nightwatch & Bestfry. I was wonder what you are tlking about $4.99 for the TDK CDR until I reread the ads & my receipt. They charged me $9.99. I'll go back tomorrow to get my $ back. Thanks again. BTW if anyone still looking for Logitech Cordless Wheel Mouse from Staples. Granada Hills, CA still has 2 left as 2/18 16:00. Woodlank Hills & Northrdge are all gone.
