The CSR I talked to said the camera was not available due to "special software" on order or something. That's after I gave her my customer no, item to top the $75 coupon threshold and asked for the Kodak web cam. When I asked for the Kodak web cam, she put me on hold. Should I keep on trying or is there something in my approach that I can change to up my chances?

Cheese...call and ask if the camera is in stock. If they say no call back and try again. Keep calling and asking and you'll have one.

airduct: Netmeeting works perfectly with this camera. Make sure you are using the latest drivers for the camera (during install, it will take you to a page where you can download updated drivers.)

I ordered Saturday night and just got mine. Staples told me today I'd have to wait for the camera until Friday but it arrived today with the diskettes (which I really needed).

Thank-you for the PM walkthrough, MontyBurns. Awesome deal for $24.00!!! (after rebate).

EDIT: BTW, Buy.com's price went up to $67.79 (still a great deal and cheaper than Kodak's price).

Also, Flanders, expect another more Northerly swell on Friday - unfortunately it looks like weather at the same time. Probably another good swell early next week. This has been a pretty fun season for Southern California although I miss Hawaii's North Shore.

It's 8 pm pacific and I just finished my order. It was my first time ordering over the phone and also my first time price matching. It's so fun... I want to surf the web for any other electronics that I could price match.

But anyway, they couldn't offer the camera to me for $69, but I still got it for $72, which is pretty good. I've been looking for a printer so I also threw in an epson stylus 880 with the purchase, used the $40 off $200 coupon. Total came out to be $196. I'm assuming that there's a $30 rebate that comes with the camera (God please). If so, that would mean that I'm basically paying $10-$20 for the camera. Sweet.

Shipment for printer will arrive on Thur.
Shipment for camera will arrive on Tues. of next week.

I hope that they're punctual. :) :D

This is a very very good camera. Work well with Netmeeting. BTW, I had an Intel free web cam several years ago as a tester, and that was the best web cam I ever had.

Well, just got my camera. Does anyone know what to use as a receipt for the rebate. I got a piece of paper that I signed for the package but it states that this is not an invoice. Will the packing slip work? And since we ordered it over the phone, there was no receipt to print out.

Cape123 you will use the invoice that came with your shipment. It is the white paper with red graphics. It will say something like you said, but you use that for the rebate. I didn't even get one of those with my camera. All I got was the white packing slip with the peel-off decal. No prices or totals listed anywhere. Had to call Staples 3 times to make them realize THAT won't work for a rebate. Sending in anything WITHOUT a total or cost per item is basically kissing your rebate goodbye.

Hope that helps!

cape123 (and all): For some reason, it seems many of us didn't receive an invoice with pricing information. If you don't have something that has a price on it, call 1-800-333-3330 and ask them to fax or mail it to you. I just did, and they faxed it about 5 minutes later.

Again, you ONLY need to do this if you didn't receive something with the price on it. If you have a form that lists the price, you're okay.

I didn't recieve a receipt with my camera, but when my box of floppies that I ordered to bump me over the $75.00 mark came on Monday, there was one in there with both items listed, with prices.

Should I still call and ask for another receipt?

James

EDIT: Note to self. Read MontyBurns' posts before posting. Question is answered.

Folks, what about a print out of the order from the Staples web site? My listing has the whole price list and everything. BTW just got my camera today.

i just got the sharpies i order with the cam today. the cam hasn't come yet, but there's a credit of $23.65. only the sharpies were listed on the slip. i called and the csr said i'm still getting the cam and it was supposed to arrive today too. she said if i don't get it by tomorrow to call, but it evidently is being sent. i'm wondering how the slip will read with the cam if it arrives?..vroom

Ok this is weird...I looked at my CC record online and it shows the 52.99 charge staples did, but then right after that there is a 23.33 credit that posted the same day. I am not complaining because it looks like I got it for 29.66, and after rebate free!?!?

I find it odd that vroom had a credit that was only 32 cents different. Anyone know what gives?

i'm guessing that the difference in credit amounts depends on what you ordered with the cam and the tax for the area you're in. guess i'll find out tomorrow or soon about what the final cost comes to once i see the slip that comes with the cam...vroom

Hey, I just did this. Hope it is a good camera.
I had to call back because the first operator said that Buy.com was out of the product so they wouldn't match price. The second operator, with a mid-west accent (Fargo), called Buy.com and was told they had them in stock. So she went ahead with the order. I followed the instructions to a T and got the camera and 5 pack of CDR's for 23.76. (free shipping and after $30.00 rebate)
Thanks for the great deal!:D
