I use Google to find the answers. I rarely feel the urge to rant about Product/Service X. I don't get around to watching movies/playing games/listening to music releases until they are a few months old and have been discussed to death in numerous threads. I don't follow Digg/Reddit/Buzzfeed and rely on ATOT to filter out the crap. Dreaming up hypothetical scenarios to discuss is not a priority. Also, I rarely chew up bags of opiates and still haven't Googled the merits of inflating tires to sidewalk.

My threads suck.

So do your posts.

******The above post is my opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of ATOT as a whole. It is based only on my judgement on SlitheryDee's only post that I remember reading. Coincidentally it is also the post I quoted above.******

Need another choice for the poll:

There are no women at ATOT, can't create a thread if you don't exist.

Why?

OP,

I have started perhaps 1,000 OT threads ... but ended up actually posting about 100 of them. Why? Because I ask myself what I expect to add or gain from exposing anything about myself here. The Internet has allowed people an amount of anonymity ... that they use to great advantage to say things that they would not normally say and to behave in ways that society would normally frown upon. Off Topic is such a venue.

Try discussing a totally rational topic in-person with a group of friends, co-workers or even strangers and you will, for the most part get an honest opinion or point-of-view from anyone willing to participate in the conversation. Start a thread here and you open yourself up to anything from a personal attack to downright rude and hurtful expressions of hatred ... even though those attacks come from people who don't even know you.

This is not meant as an attack on yourself or any other mods but consider more moderation of this forum ...

You shoulda added an "Other" option for the pohl, Mosh. I think there's more to it than those.

I've made maybe a half-dozen threads, some because of hardware questions, one because I wanted the title of largest poll on AT, and a couple of random questions that no one answered. No need to otherwise.

EDIT: Actually, it looks like I've made over a dozen, but most were done around 2005-2006. I've lost confidence since then. :(

Back before the subforums I’d rarely create threads in OT because at work I didn’t have the time to be actively involved in most threads; they’d simply move too quickly.

Now I rarely create threads in OT simply because there’s usually a subforum that better fits my topic or query.

That and I also hate most of the people in here.

In my 7 years here, it looks like I have created 77 threads. ~40 of them are within the last 3 months.

That comes out that I post a thread at least once every month during my stay.

But before, I used to be the lurker type. Guess somewhere along the line I reversed it.

I have created 89 threads here, and there is no question that each of them was fucking awesome.

Damn, I didn't think to use search. It appears I've started 50 threads. I doesn't seem like that many. I really thought it was only about a dozen :^D
