Reasons to not vote for Rick Perry

This list can grow, suggestions are invited.

To start it off:

- The 'Texas miracle' is a myth. Texas has the highest percent of minimum wage employment, and the highest rate of uninsured workers, in the country.

- The same week Perry said he has no worry that every person Texas executes is guilty, because the process is so perfected and reliable, the Supreme Court blocked one.

- Rick Perry game a major speech saying he opposed the federal stimulus spending and would not accept any - the same day he cashed a stimulus check for billions.

That check allowed him to balance the state budget - with some other games like pushing education spending by one day into the next fiscal year.

- (Wreckem): "The remainder of the rainy day fund wasn't used because Texas didn't fully fund its medicaid payments in the budget. As a result, most of the rainy day fund will likely have to be used to cover those obligations when they become due. "

- (Sandeagle): "Perry also expressed support for allowing Jewish settlements to be constructed on the West Bank, a practice Obama has asked the Israeli government to cease. And Perry said that the entire city of Jerusalem should be part of Israel"

Are you going to do them all? If so, can we include Sara Palin?

I'm leaning towards it, as an item hits me to post.

But not Palin, since she's declared she's not running. You are welcome to.

Now, a 'Reasons not to pay any attention to Sarah Palin' seems to me to be pretty useful, and a long list.

Here is another.

The remainder of the rainy day fund wasn't used because Texas didn't fully fund its medicaid payments in the budget. As a result, most of the rainy day fund will likely have to be used to cover those obligations when they become due.

I think Perry would make a terrible President, but complaining about his jobs record is absurd unless your position is that you'd rather have 2-3 millions lost jobs that pay zero (like under Obama) rather than low paying ones in Texas.

We all already know why you don't vote Rick Perry - because he is a part of the Republican Party, and that label above all else is why you will never vote for him. Just say that and move on.

I actually agree with Craig. Rick Perry is a truly awful human being. You might want to mention the fact that he shamelesskly kisses up to the ultra-fundamentalist wing of the GOP, which is IMO his worst sin.

Gov. Rick Perry of Texas struggled through his first three debates, so his aides have staged practice sessions, complete with a stand-in for Mitt Romney.

Perry doesn't even know how to speak coherently. he needs to practice in front of his staff to make it appear that he knows the agenda and that he cares about real world issues. Dr. RON PAUL needs no practice, knows the truth, and speaks from the heart. he can eloquently answer a question at the flick of a wrist. he is a true American patriot that America needs. the media is afraid of him and will not give him the spotlight, even though he leads in all polls and surveys.

Perry also expressed support for allowing Jewish settlements to be constructed on the West Bank, a practice Obama has asked the
Israeli government to cease. And Perry said that the entire city of
Jerusalem should be part of Israel, a move that would make key
religious and historical sites part of the Jewish state. Israel captured
East Jerusalem from Jordan in 1967.

Perry even suggested he would move American diplomatic
personnel out of Tel Aviv and instead recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. “As the president of the United States, if you want to work for the State Department, you will be working in Jerusalem,” he said.

this man is a delusional. it is apparent where his allegiance lies and it is not with the American people. another reason not to vote for this fool.

Rick Perry is awesome, he likes guns and carries one daily.

America FUCK YEAH!

See what we need as a president is someone STRONG, not pussy like Obama. Rick Perry is an alpha male. Obama is scared of guns. Guess which one makes the shittier president?

I would follow that advice myself 😉

Oh don't forget to add he LOVES Crony Capitalism.

I'm thinking Perry is at this this very moment wondering how the Party that looked to him for their salvation has now turned on him like he's got the plague with AIDS thrown in, all within a matter of weeks.

That being said, I wouldn't count him out at the moment. As has been in evidence of late, desperation has made the Repub candidates and their fans do and say some really weird things.

I don't like him because he is nothing more than a well financed pretty faced whore for the very rich. He has no idea how to bend over backward for his benefactors because they've only had the need to bend him over forwardly.

Rick Perry seems like G.W. Bush II.

As Keith Olbermann said, if you're going to compare them, he has to defend Bush.

He very much shows the Bush flaws pretty much, but I'm interested in this list being more about specific reasons than those general issues.

So, things that are reasons not to vote for him or Bush could count, mainly policies. Though of course in a campaign, they tend to say whatever policies get them votes.
