Reasons to get an Xbox 360?

If all your friends are on Xbox Live and you want to play games with them, then get it. Other than that it doesn't sound like the exclusive titles are worth it to you.

You might not be aware of it, but the 360 has a wealth of good ports and upcoming ports of recent arcade games - Mushihime-sama, Espgaluda, Senko no Ronde, Deathsmiles, Raiden, Ketsui for instance - and all of that is exclusive to the 360.

The PS3 only has fighting games, and even on that front 360 slightly edges it out. Wii has TvC and some ye olde ports on Wiiware, and that's it.

So 360 is indeed *the* arcade console this gen. Last gen it was not so clear cut, with a ton of good exclusive ports both on Dreamcast and PS2.

oh i was just loling because it sounded like you hadn't bought one yet but you were already saying it was the best. i don't think you can go wrong with either console... fwiw

That is not just what it sounded like, that is what I meant.
I don't have a 360 yet - I've been mulling over whether to buy a European or Japanese 360. I do have two 360 games and an arcade stick, though.

to the OP, i was torn between a ps3 and a 360 november of last year. i haven't owned a console since the n64. i wanted the ps3 for the blu-ray but knew i would not have a nice tv to hook it up to. i opted for the 360 for a few reasons:

more of my friends have a 360
i was hooking it up to my 24" LCD
and i also saw more users playing with the xim2(which i use, kb/m adapter) on 360s than ps3s.

i also feel xbox generally has more players online(i could be wrong, just assuming here ladies)..

Can xim2 be used online? If so, I would imagine it being a game changer because I'm sure most people know how much better it is to use a keyboard and mouse for FPS than with a controller.

Well there's nothing wrong with creating a thread and ask. If there's no justification to get one, then I won't and save myself some money. If you want to start a flame war, then go and create your own thread for that.

why not start another thread on reasons to buy a giraffe? if there's no justification for it and you won't play with it, dont get it.

yes, i only play online. and it's different for everyone. coming from a long-time PC gamer i'm without a doubt usually the leader on most boards. i'm horrible with a controller. although, there are still TONS of people that do just as well with a controller. just depends what you're used to.
