Just curious, what's the range of the MX700 ?

Depends. Clear, unobstructed is probably around 6 feet. Practical (with monitor in the way, or not really line of site) I get 2-3 feet. Not very good, in my opinion. I also cannot sit my base on top of my desk, even tho it has direct line of site to the mouse. I have to keep it on the same basic level to get a good connection. This mouse really kicks ass, but I do think Logitech dropped the ball on the transmitters.

I put mine on top of my 21" monitor (which you aren't supposed to do) and it has NEVER skipped or anything. It's about 3 feet away. I can use it as far away as I can read text, which is about 5-6 feet. Best mouse I've ever used.

sure why not at this price, its simply smooth:) and well the resolution allows you to crank speed without accuracy loss.

Please describe all the buttons. I love this MX510 and bought 3 but at $150 vs $60 that's a big difference. But I like all 6 buttons - back, forward, scroll up, down, minimize & wheel button.

no..... if you like the mx510, don't go 310. 310 is good for those that don't like extra buttons and well.. its not as pretty as the 510. and apparently you can afford it, no sales for something that new for quite a while i bet, and the mx310 looks ugly compared to the 510. the mx310 only really has 1 side button, the other one is technically usable, but its really only for left handers and is placed as such, the contortions u'd have to do to reach it aren't worth it. the application switch button above the wheel is useless and hard to reach. its mostly a 3 button mouse with mx sensor for cheap gamers:) i'll jump to a 510-700 when theres a sale on one of those. i can justify that easily since i'll be handing it down to family as ussual, so no waste. i like having enough buttons for copy/paste etc.. ah well. the mx310 is only worth 20 dollars to me, but that being said, its the best 20 dollar mouse out there.

Thanks. My MX510 has attraced lots of attention in real life, even though I was treated with outright hositility and sarcasm here and the thread was closed for dare mentioning it - it's a hot deal at $49.95 too

In case you guys are having trouble getting these @ BestBuy, OM seems to have them on sale for the same price. I went into my local B&M with the intention to PM BestBuy, but they were on sale for $19.99 already.

I checked it out at BB. Uncomfortable, and you can only use one of the side button unless you're special.

But I thought you had a 6-fingered symmetrically hand?

well, after using this extensively for the last 24+ hours, I think I'm going to return it to BB. I just can't get used to the indents on the sides. Read a couple reviews for it, and most people that have only used smooth sided mice are having difficulty getting used to it. Everytime I touch the mouse it just feels awkward, although it does look 20x better and the scroll wheel is nicer then my old used intellimouse optical. FFXI is taking up most of my time now and it's not exactly demanding pinpoint accuracy, so back to BestBuy this goes.

For anyone that likes the mouse, congrats cuz it's a great deal.

I broke down and bought the mouse, except I PM'd at Fry's while I was there finding other deals. Sadly, the super wasted at least 5 minutes of time to verify stock and price w/ Best Buy B&M because I only had a bestbuy.com print out on me and not the national circular.

I see reference to a Logitech MX510, but I cannot find it listed on the Logitech website or any of the local retailers. I wan going to look for this mouse to replace my brand new MX310 and go back to wireless.

If the indents bother you, look around for the MX300. It's basically the same mouse but in the shape of the regular Logitech Optical mice like those cheap white ones.
