theyre just stupidly convenient. and like i said, if you add a heatsink and install it inside a pc, you wont be missing a whole lot over a pcie solution (besides the previously used pcie slot).

Haven't posted in ages, just wanted to say thanks to OP for the deal and everyone else for answering all the questions rattling around in my head. In for 1, probably pick up another for spare after trying.

I just joined the Mwave Club but I don't see how I can select the 'free shipping' option. Can anyone help me out on that?

Guess they pulled the plug on it... still a nice deal.

EDIT: I got one, even with taxes and shipping I couldn't resist.

Do they pickup signal well? My board has a "built in" one, and it works fine even being wireless G...wondering it this is worth it.

Thanks OP. I received my 2 units yesterday. I actually had a $70 DLINK in my possession that I returned after seeing this smoking deal. Works without issue for me. I bought the other for a friend I am building a HTPC for. I'm thinking about adding a cable to extend the antenna outside and behind his fully enclosed cabinet.

Great deal and decent product....thanks again.

I have had a couple of these for some time and they are excellent. The greater range is amazing. The work fine with windows 7-64 and the included software was not a problem at all. It does install very slowly but that is really not a problem.....

In for one to add to my tool arsenal. Love having this kind of stuff on the cheap when building rigs for friends and family. Thanks OP!

In for one. I currently have a Linksys wirelesss-g adapter and it's horrible; constantly dropping connection.

Edit: How do you get free shipping? I already have the M club membership.

Free shipping expired a few days ago. It comes and goes with this from what I've seen over the last few months.

plugged into the wife's laptop and get ~70mb/s vs ~48 with onboard... the thing is a bit large hanging out in the breeze...

well i got mine and the adapter is slightly worse then my atheros AR9285 chipset in my netbook. i can see and connect to my neighbors unsecured internet with my netbook and get 2 bars of strength (signal drops out and loses connection though after a few min).

with this usb adapter, i cant even see my neighbors network. it does get the same strength/speed to my own network though, so i can tell its pretty much the same.

i am using the realtek drivers though. it does show it connecting at 270mbs rx speed, and 130mbs tx speed... which is nice because i dont think my netbook receives at above 150mbps.

I hooked mine up to my media player as a test, and while my normal one only pics up my router, and occasionally 1 neighbors, this one promptly picked up 7. I live in a small rural town filled with senior citizens. That was quite a surprise, and most of them weren't secure 😛 Haven't really tested the speed yet
